“Most importantly, I’d like people to feel more comfortable about having an open dialogue regarding mental health. We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. We are all, always, in our feels – and that’s a great place to be.” https://lnkd.in/eW5UW6Fe

Empowering people to have agency over their wellbeing and digital habits.🧠👩🏽💻🏃🏼. Helping organisations committed to supporting their colleagues and young people in this quest - in a meaningful and authentic way.
This is such an important study. It can guide us as parents, and should absolutely steer educational policy to ensure that exercise is not tokenistic or optional for our oldest students in school. I highlight this line again from Caroline Fisher: 'Each additional year a teenager remains engaged in exercise is associated with improved State of Mind scores in adulthood, with the ages of 15-17 identified as the most critical years for staying active.' It strikes me there is often an imbalance between proactive work v reactive response when it comes to improving the mental health and wellbeing of our young people. Let's get the basics right during the period when we have the privilege as adults of being able to influence how adolescents spend their time. Let's ask ourselves, do our actions mirror our words? Do we tell our students that PE is important, but then allow them to skip it to attend a revision session or a special assembly or a driving lesson? It is very difficult to get the balance right, but this is a compelling report. #activebody #healthymind
Our 2024 Global State of Mind Study continues to show a positive link between exercise and mental wellbeing across the world. The more people move, the better they feel. The Study, led by Dr Brendon Stubbs and surveying over 26,000 people in 22 countries, uncovers a link between being physically active in our teenage years and positive mental wellbeing in adulthood. Each additional year a teenager remains engaged in exercise is associated with improved State of Mind scores in adulthood, with the ages of 15-17 identified as the most critical years for staying active. ASICS today announces the results of its second Global State of Mind Study, reaffirming a positive link between physical exercise and mental wellbeing and uncovering a link between being physically active in teenage years and positive mental wellbeing in adulthood. The study of over 26,000 people across 22 countries found that the more people exercise, the higher their State of Mind scores. Across the globe, respondents who are regularly active have an average State of Mind score of 67/100, while inactive people have a much lower State of Mind score of just 54/100. The study also uncovered that being physically active in your teenage years directly impacts your mind later in life. Participants who engaged in exercise throughout their adolescence report higher activity levels and State of Mind scores as adults.
