Every TVET institution is expected to have an ILO (Industrial Liaison Office) Department that places its trainees on Industrial /Field Attachment. This department reinforces the necessary practical field skills to the already acquired theoretical knowledge imparted in the TVET institution by trainers. This is an important component of education and training as it provides trainees with real practical work experience in their area of specialization as a course requirement in TVET. The training opportunities are designed around competencies established for each career field and each job title. Competencies are a cluster of related knowledge skills and attitudes affecting a major part of job role that correlates with performance on the job and measured against accepted standards. The duration of the Field Attachment is usually 3-6 months. To avoid mismatch between training and industry, TVET institutions should constantly be in touch with the industry to align training to the evolving industry skills requirements. This emphasizes need for the trainers to also be go for Industrial Attachment to align their competency in imparting relevant knowledge to trainees. Industry is encouraged to donate some of their new technology equipment to TVET institutions. Industry can also provide mentorship to TVET departments through scheduled career talks and engagements. It is thus recommended that TVET institutions adopt a continuous reinforcement based industrial attachment strategy to enhance CBET training. Skills acquired during Field Attachment by trainees are: good communication skills, teamwork and ability to build positive relationships, self and work time management, negotiation and networking skills.

Here are some of the replies we received: “My commitment to safety is to provide resources, information, and experienced supervision to ensure all proper procedures are being followed and workers are going home at the end of the day.” “My commitment is to always ask questions if I don’t understand a task I have been given.” “As an experienced industry worker, my commitment to safety is to lead by example and mentor apprentices to foster a good safety culture. To provide wisdom and interference when something is unsafe.” What is your commitment to safety? #masteccanada #safetymoment #safety #commitment

This weekend I graduated from Murray State University with a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health. First and foremost, I want to thank my family, friends, coworkers, and MSU faculty for always being a source of encouragement. Earning my master’s is an achievement I would have never envisioned twenty-four years ago when I graduated high school. Honestly, anyone who knew me then would have likely laughed at the thought. The Marine Corps instilled the discipline and drive to excel, and everyone I have met along the way has inspired me to hold myself to a higher standard. Although earning this degree feels awesome, I recognize a degree or certification does not necessarily make someone a professional in their respective field. We have to accumulate so much more knowledge, experience, and trust in our respective fields, which only time and exposure to new topics can provide. With that in mind, I know there are thousands of things for me to still learn. So rather than looking at this master’s degree as my achievement, I prefer to look at it as a commitment to others. Yes, I took the time to do the academic work, but that is only so I have the foundation to listen actively, problem solve, learn what people do, how they do it, and what it takes to make sure we all go home at the end of the day whole and happy. My achievement isn’t measured in degrees or certifications, it is measured by this final point, we all go home at the end of the day whole and happy, and this is measured minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, and day-by-day. #MurrayStateUniversity

The safety of our student-athletes and protection of the environment is a priority.
At Egypt Education Platform (EEP), safeguarding the emotional and physical well-being of every member of our community is of paramount importance. We ensure a secure environment across our entities through rigorous regulations and comprehensive workshops that take place regularly, offering varying training levels to respective employees. Our central safeguarding team gave a level-3 safeguarding training to the corresponding team at Right to Dream Egypt, an EEP partner. The training provided a comprehensive understanding of EEP's safeguarding system, offered hands-on activities to expose the team to the different scenarios they might face, and introduced them to their roles and responsibilities. EEP is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive atmosphere where every student is empowered to learn with confidence. #EEP #RightToDream #Safeguarding
