Had the privilege of providing health education professional development to an incredible group of educators at Match Education in Boston, MA.
Lessonbee is excited to partner with Match to support district wide health education, from elementary to high school. The training took place at the high school, where the learning culture feels supportive and inclusive, as a direct result of adult culture and leader support.
Match's commitment to their students' health and wellness education showed up in the following ways:
1. Network and school leader support for health education. The leadership- from C level leaders, to network instructional leadership, and school leaders- showed alignment in providing quality health education and supporting the teachers and students. After the training, Match's COO Michael Kerr was onsite to check in, see how it went and reinforce support from the network.
2. Collaboration and partnership: Both school and network leaders attended the professional development to support their teachers. The PD included teachers, co-teachers, school counselors, community partners, an assistant principal, and network lead for health. In this way, all involved in teaching health education, supporting the teachers, and providing tiered interventions, are on the same page to collaborate and implement the vision.
3. Academy level alignment: Match is committed to providing health education at each academy level and aligning so that students build on knowledge learned and skills mastered in health education year over year.
