In the past twenty years, the number of Americans who believe that antisemitism is a serious problem jumped from 9% in 2003 to 49%, according to a new Gallup poll. AJC's 2023 data shows that American Jews feel more unsafe than ever. Countering antisemitism requires a whole-of-society approach. Leaders must take this data into account and ensure the safety of the Jewish community. https://lnkd.in/e7HKwhZf

The Courageous Conversation Protocol has been a powerful tool in my coaching and consulting work for creating meaningful dialogue, cultivating empathy and understanding, and building solidarity in the struggle for racial justice. I firmly believe that embracing these conversations leads to growth and collective impact, empowering individuals to confront uncomfortable truths and dismantle systemic barriers. #CourageousConversation #RacialJustice #RacialJustice #Empowerment

Helping you navigate moral and political disagreements with science-backed insights | Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill | Author | Speaker
Who Is More Moral: Liberals or Conservatives? Recent research from my lab reveals that BOTH groups care deeply about protecting others—it’s not a question of morality, but WHO they believe is most vulnerable. We asked thousands of liberals and conservatives to rate the vulnerability of various entities, from “Jesus” to "corporate leaders" to “undocumented immigrants” to “coral reefs.” The results paint a clear picture: Both sides are equally concerned with harm, but they disagree on who needs the most protection. 🌎 *Liberals* tend to see the world as divided between vulnerable oppressed groups and powerful oppressors. 🏛️ *Conservatives* tend to believe everyone is equally at risk of being harmed or mistreated. This difference in perception might be the key to understanding why our political debates run so deep—and why they’re so difficult to resolve. #Psychology #Research #Morality #Vulnerability #Politics

👉 The recent surge in violence across the UK is deeply concerning. #Disinformation and #extremist rhetoric have played significant roles in these shocking events. The rise of #Islamophobia and the bold actions of far-right groups show just how much work we have ahead of us. 👉Communities are facing distressing scenes: masked mobs chanting anti-immigrant slogans, attacking hotels housing #asylumseekers, targeting #mosques, clashing with police, and causing widespread destruction. 👉 In light of these events, it’s crucial to address the root causes and educate our communities on how to counteract these negative influences. Empowering young people with the right tools and knowledge is key to building resilience against extremist narratives. 👉At ConnectFutures we offer the CHALLENGING THE FAR RIGHT workshop to educate professionals and the community on up-skilling to challenge extremist narratives using a train-the-trainer model. ❗ This workshop increases knowledge of emerging trends and threats from the extreme far right, far right proscribed groups, propaganda and manifestations of the extreme far right. 🔗 Click here to learn more: https://bit.ly/499CY0b Brian Bumbarger, PhD, MEd Peter Grigg Ndidi Okezie Shane Ryan MBE Arielle Garton Laura Bunt Arielle Garton Mark Evans Jaffer Ali Hussain Esmat Jeraj Yasin Erkul Sam Anderson David Knowles Nadeem Murtuja Haroon Bashir Arlinda Rrustemi Dr Lynn Schneider Rosalind Paul

" This paper attempts to find new ways of addressing sexual exploitation abuse by focusing on grassroots solutions and the perspectives of diverse actors. The outcomes of the analysis conclude a set of suggestions focusing on justice, education, empowerment, institutional change, and a shift in the UN-DRC relationship" Alina-Anna Josephson, an alumna of the Conflict and Development Masters program converted her MA thesis into a report for the INSECURE LIVELIHOODS SERIES.
