Over the past two weeks we have been in the midst of Development Days at OMERS and Oxford, with lots of learning opportunities for our people. We know that learning and development are key drivers of employee engagement, so we introduced Development Days this year as a way to encourage our people – every quarter – to take some time and focus on their development.
We capped off Development Days with a fantastic panel featuring creative career pathfinders. Our President and CEO Blake Hutcheson moderated an insightful and inspiring conversation with Cheyanne Omand, Kinjal Rajawat, CFA and Tyler MacDonald – three OMERS and Oxford employees who collectively have had 12 different careers across our platform! I love that our platform can provide such a breadth of career possibilities for our employees!
How do you see growth and development? I think of it as a tree. At the beginning it’s just a seed that needs nourishment, care and time to flourish. Our people also need nurturing, learning and experience to realize their full potential. Once that tree is strong in its roots, branches can grow in various directions, just like our growth taking diverse paths, each presenting new opportunities and possibilities. How are you helping your tree grow tall and strong?

But if we learn to let go of grudges, we experience more peace and a better quality of life.
