What's driving division among Americans?
At APA 2024, Dr. Tania Israel explained how affective polarization is impacting the country. There is reason to hope as decades of data show Americans are closer on societal issues than they think they are.

Key Term Tuesday: Dehumanization
Why I Chose This Topic: Dehumanization involves denying the humanity of a group or individual, often justifying mistreatment and violence. It is a critical component of systemic racism and discrimination.
Why It's Important: Understanding dehumanization helps us recognize and combat the narratives that perpetuate inequality and injustice.

Dr. Wayne Dyer said it best in his observation that "When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.”
Each one of us sees the world from a particular point of view. One of the best keys to changing another person's view - or our own for that matter - starts with shifting vantage points.
What's something you've seen from a new vantage point recently?

Hello,
A new book was published 28th March 2024:
Please let me introduce myself and my book. I am Dr Kevin Franklin (Regd. Clin Psych and Psychodramatist-T.E.P.). My book introduces tests and validates a new to science Theory of Person. ToP is a holistic objects-in-relations and transpersonal model of a human being: hence “Humanity and Human Sexuality”. Also, ToP introduces to science a universal, prior-unknown, clinically significant objective dimension of spontaneity within personality. With this hidden-in-plain-sight ToP model, hypotheses were proposed and tested: These empirically demonstrate the “Origin and Nature of Sexual Preference”. And, serendipitously, the origin and nature of psychological-and-sociological dis-Order. ToP is a unifying new to science psycho-social paradigm for Social Science.

The modern world tends to think of debate and disagreement as an activity for the trenches. We dig into our view and vehemently attack our enemies on the ideological battleground.
But debate does not need to be thought of this way. Here is a better metaphor for debate, that might just change the way you engage when next in one!
How might viewing disagreements as dances change the way you show up in them?

Key Term Tuesday: Racial Gaslighting
Why I Chose This Topic: Racial gaslighting specifically targets the experiences of people of color, making them question the reality of the racism they face. It is a pervasive issue that undermines efforts to address systemic racism.
Why It's Important: Understanding racial gaslighting is crucial for validating the experiences of people of color and fostering honest and supportive conversations about race.

I think my smile is too big for the topic, but they said to smile for a photo 🫣.
BBC politics discussion on cuts and implementation - for me Cognitively and in theory, "cold turkey" is simple, BUT in practice and emotionally - little and often "salami slicing" to embed, reflect on and maintain or tweak is more successful - but each situation is different, each has a history. Great discussion. Join us.
