As we develop reparative spatial justice strategies that reckon with, repair, and transform the racist foundations of land and housing policies in the United States, we are reminded that it is essential that we decommodify, rematriate, and increase accessibility to land for Indigenous, Black, and POC communities. Join PolicyLink and the Center for Ethical Land Transition as we discuss how communities, funders, policymakers, and landowners can advance this work, so that we may all deepen our relationships to land and upend the logics of dispossession that underpin our property system. https://lnkd.in/gFPfpq4y
Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Grounding Justice in the Land: Strategies for Advancing Reparative Spatial Justice. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

Part of the Governor's Central City Task Force focused on the need for greater public-private collaboration. This list is a good start to the many concrete ways in which individuals, community organizations, and employers can be a part of the solutions we want to urgently see - the more entities lean into these opportunities with meaningful resources, the faster and stronger our recovery will be: https://lnkd.in/g4GCURth

Mindset challenge of the day: "Engaging children and young people in the planning process offers the opportunity to understand a place from both the perspective of its most vulnerable but also most present experts". How do you view the voices of out Youth and children when you engage with them? So you really seek them out, listen to them and see them as experts? If not? Why not? and How can you do this Better? This is how Touched by Olivia has co-created community-led inclusive play and passive recreation spaces that are owned, loved and used by all, and are full day after day, year after year after year. Ask the kids first....It works!
Have you had a chance to read the piece that we contributed to the last issue of the Scottish Planner? We reflect on our work over the last year when we explored the integration of children and young people's voices in town planning in Scotland. You can read the full issue here https://lnkd.in/eJqVkyV5

I'm on a panel at this forum next week, to talk about how we deal with the risk of modern slavery in renewable energy supply chains. As the forum will show, this is not a challenge unique to renewable energy, but our industry needs to be part of a solution to this global problem. Looking forward to the discussion.
Announcement 📢 We are excited to unveil the full program for the inaugural NSW Anti-slavery Forum. On the 21 & 22 May at Norton Rose Fulbright’s Sydney office we will be hosting a thought-provoking gathering of NSW anti-slavery leaders from government, business, academia, civil society, and people with lived experience. The Forum aims to spark collaboration to address modern slavery by fostering a community of purpose. Whether you are from the business sector, government, the community, or have lived experience, we hope this two-day Forum will provide opportunities to learn from and connect with others who are dedicated to combating modern slavery in our state.
