We are very sad to share news of the passing of Ron Hites. He was a pioneering environmental chemist and a giant of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry and founder of its journal, the Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry. Our thoughts and prayers go to Ron's family, friends, and many colleagues.

So sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I saw him in Apr of this year at the symposium in honor of Dennis Peters. A generation of great scientists I was very lucky to know.
