Does Radiation from Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) Affect Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) Levels?
Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is a common diagnostic procedure that uses X-ray imaging to examine the uterus and fallopian tubes. While this test provides valuable information about a woman's reproductive health, concerns have been raised about the potential impact of the radiation exposure on fertility markers, such as Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) levels. AMH is a key indicator of ovarian reserve, and a decrease in its levels may suggest a potential decline in fertility. This article explores the current research on the relationship between HSG radiation and AMH levels, aiming to provide insights for women and healthcare professionals concerned about the potential effects of this procedure on reproductive health.
