We are proud for our last RCT focusing on the Role of Lugol Solution before thyroidectomy in Graves' disease, just published by the BRITISH JOURNAL OF SURGERY. We found that: -preoperative Lugol solution can significantly reduce FT3 and FT4 levels, but... -Lugol solution does not decrease intra and postoperative blood loss -Lugol solution does not decrease thyroid vascularization -Lugol solution does not decrease duration of surgery, and surgical morbidity. -Lugol solution presents with some problems in availability, tolerability, and reduced patient compliance - Thus, Lugol solution administration cannot be considered a mandatory procedure before total thyroidectomy. https://lnkd.in/etZ4ej2u

#TBT - Patient Spotlight! "After evaluating my shoulder, Dr. Provencher recommended surgery and performed a revision rotator cuff repair. The arthroscopic surgery repaired the supraspinatus tendon as well as the infraspinatus tendon. In addition, he injected platelet-rich plasma to help promote healing. After my surgery I was diligent in completing the prescribed physical therapy, knowing that I had to do my part to heal my injury." https://medilink.us/4pl8 #regenerativemedicine #patientcare #patientsfirst #biologics

Have inflammatory reactions already been associated with Yxoss CBR®? The most common complications after oral surgery or oral-maxillofacial surgery include postoperative infections. Here, the usual treatment recommendations apply. In generally, however, an inflammation can be a natural process in the course of wound healing (inflammatory cascade in the course of secondary wound healing). Yxoss CBR® is biocompatible. Product-related reactions have not been observed and are therefore not expected. Infections due to inadequate hygiene (especially in the oral cavity) can negatively affect the healing process. #reoss #customizedsolutions #yxosscbr
