The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin regulates Wisconsin water utilities. You cannot avoid it!!!! PSC approval is required before a utility can change rates. The PSC has specific rules it must follow prior to making decisions during its application review period. https://lnkd.in/g9jqeP9y INCREASING RATES The PSC Simplified Rate Increase process quickly and easily gives you a small inflationary increase. The PSC also performs an initial screening of your application and rejects those that are considered incomplete. The sooner you have your previous year's financial results, the sooner the PSC can start working on your application. The PSC typically gets busier during July and after October 31st, mostly due the PSC getting jammed up with the large IOU energy rate cases and also the holidays. CONSTRUCTION AUTHORIZATION Water utilities need PSC approval for some capital projects. Capital projects that cost more than $300,000 generally, but not always require PSC approval. Some small projects also require PSC approval. The provisions of the rule will be to ensure oil and gas products from production activities make it to market.
