Cars to Work: A Campaign by Renault and Publicis Conseil I recently came across an inspiring campaign by Renault called Cars to Work, created by Publicis Conseil Paris. This initiative addresses a critical issue: No car, no job. No job, no loan. No loan, no car. This vicious cycle affects many people, especially in areas with no public transportation. Did you know that 40% of French people live in such places? For 54% of French job-seekers, lack of mobility has already led them to turn down job opportunities. Renault's Cars to Work breaks this cycle by providing cars for free to people during their job trial periods. They only start paying for the cars under affordable conditions once their jobs are secured. This makes cars accessible to those who need them the most, at the time they need them the most. Available through 50 dealerships in mobility deserts and on France Travail.fr, the French public employment service, this campaign truly helps people start their new jobs with confidence. 3moI’d suggest also focusing on talent in the US, in Indiana particularly. Our facility has some excellent talent but the “pay cap” for skilled trades is far below what’s available to those as qualified nearby. We like our jobs. We want to stay. However, we don’t want to be held back. Several of us have had numerous opportunities to start elsewhere at a higher wage with better benefits but have declined because we love our coworkers and what we do, together. I don’t know if this post will be seen by anyone able to make a difference, but I hope it does.
