Our co-production journey with Brandon Trust Brandon Adventurers has given us an insight into sharing learning. This week three current students (2 pharmacists and 1 nurse) met with the Adventurers with a couple of loose aims… 1) the students would answer any questions that the Adventurers had to enable them to prepare for their annual health checks - with the aim that they could then support their peers 2) the Adventurers would share their knowledge about accessible information and the students would draft EasyRead materials which the Adventurers would appraise and guide further development. It is often the tasks above that are seen as the learning but as our relationship grows it becomes easier to see the deeper learning - the mutual understanding of how organisations work and how that can affect interactions and people’s experiences of healthcare. Rachel Roberts - as you so perfectly put it - “I think we have learnt so much today about each others world…

Upcoming training You get a very different experience on a training course when the instructor has published and developed the framework themselves. Still a couple of weeks until my Improving Clinical Effectiveness course begins This course is for you if you want to understand and find way of improving as; 1) Therapists don't improve with time and experience 2) There is little difference between therapy models, learning a new one will not improve your outcomes 3) Therapists hugely differ in their effectiveness and outcomes 4) Level of qualification or training is not a predictor of effectiveness 5) While supervision is integral the evidence is scant on its direct impact on client outcomes 6) Traditional CPD tends not to improve effectiveness https://lnkd.in/eBJ9Rf8D

“Today you can teach anybody the hard skills and the clinical skills they need to do patient care. But, these caregivers will not be successful if they cannot also communicate and work well with patients and colleagues. Many of the certifications we see in healthcare do not address the interpersonal, or human skills side of the equation.” -Jennifer Zabel, MS, MedCerts Senior Allied Health Program Developer Enter our two-week Professionalism in Allied Health course. This course comes at the beginning of all the technical programs and helps students become well-rounded healthcare professionals. Reflection in practice is critical part of healthcare and importance of this is evidenced in study below. my own experiences of reflection in and on practice have pushed me to continued professional and personal development. The core vales of NHS outlines core values that healthcare professionals should adhere to.... working together for patients. Patients come first in everything they do with respect and dignity. Value every person – whether patient, their families or carers, or staff – as an individual, respect their aspirations and commitments in life, and seek to understand their priorities, needs, abilities and limits commitment to quality of care. Earn the trust placed in us by insisting on quality and striving to get the basics of quality of care – safety, effectiveness and patient experience right every time compassion. Compassion is central to the care provided and respond with humanity and kindness to each person’s pain, distress, anxiety or need improving lives. Strive to improve health and wellbeing and people’s experiences of the NHS everyone counts. Maximise our resources for the benefit of the whole community, and make sure nobody is excluded, discriminated against or left behind. Are you reflecting in action ? https://lnkd.in/ex97mi4N
