Don't miss out on the latest episode of The Washington Outsider #Report on Coalition Radio with International Tax and Investment Center (ITIC)'s Wesley Hill who joins to unravel all the myths and misconceptions about the #PRC's #economy, #China's near-term future in #Investments, and the #geoeconomic issues and concerns US/#NATO is facing (perhaps a better title for this program would be "Why Hope is not a #Strategy"!) Among many other pertinent questions, we look into: - why Beijing is not about to collapse, economically or politically - and why your favorite "experts" claim the war is all but won despite all evidence to the contrary - #China's interests in the US economy: how does the #CCP determine just how much damage to the US it can afford before its own interests suffer? - Is complete decoupling from #China possible, and if so, what could that look like? - The impact of the foreign capital flight from #China. - Why #PRC is able and willing to continue investing heavily into both businesses and #Infrastructure all over the world - Why African countries are distancing themselves from the #BRI - but are not ready to abandon #China - The role and promise of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, #BRICS, and other #China-led projects - how can #China's differences with #Russia can be exploited - how far does #Beijing's cooperation with Moscow extend - Will #China's research industry collapse if the West finds a way to cut off access to its intellectual property - What is the future of the American business in #China - Is the rare earth minerals race lost for the West? ... and so much more. Be sure to catch this thought-provoking discussion that will upend much of what the #media claims about #PRC with an expert fluent in #Mandarin and intimately familiar with the country and the subject.

Much of "Network State" conversation/debate lingers on topics of sovereignty and the movement as a force to confront and replace legacy systems of governance. While it's easy for us to point the fingers of blame at authoritarian governments and crooked industries, it's important to understand that these constructs are products of our own human hubris combined with industrialized hunger for consumption and immediate gratification. In this conversation we discussed the value of focusing a bit more on just building pragmatic solutions for human needs as a pathway to change, as well as considering a less confrontational and more collaborative approach across our movement. Thank you to Vahram Ayvazyan and the Network State team for this ongoing series of great conversations with real change-makers! #makebetterhumans #owneverythingandbefree #liveloci
"Vahram Ayvazyan kicked off the session by introducing the esteemed speakers and sharing his insights on the topic. He highlighted the rapid expansion of Network States and underscored the urgency of integrating these entities into the global political agenda. He emphasized the critical need for Network States to establish meaningful dialogues with traditional Nation States to ensure mutual understanding and cooperation. Jim Yuan provided thought-provoking perspectives into foundational principles of Network States and parallel startup societies, such as those around building for entrepreneurial product-market fit, building for interactive communities, and building for peaceful developmental collaborations. Joshua Haarbrink elaborated on the dynamic relationship between Network States and Nation States. He highlighted how Network States can avoid directly challenging traditional Nation States by focusing on building parallel systems and solutions that serve human needs. Shiwen Y. delved into the key relationships for Network States within the region. He specifically examined the interactions between China and Russia, the European Union and Russia, and India and China." https://lnkd.in/g54beEgH

Despite history repeatedly showing that long-term investment is the key to growth, the constant chatter and movement of the market can make even the surest investor act reactionary. That’s where a Ulysses contract can be helpful. Named after the epic Greek character and his advance decision to avoid ruin, a Ulysses contract binds an individual to a committed course of action that can prevent themselves from acting in haste. Watch this video of Annie Duke: Author, Professional Speaker & Decision Strategist, expert on the science of decision making, and Haverford VP Maxine Cuffe, CFA to learn more about the benefit of Ulysses contracts. #ulyssescontract #longterminvesting #investing #finance #wealthmanagement

As always an excellent Opinion piece by JP Spinetto arguing members of Mexico's business elite (whoever they are) are underestimating the risks of a Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presidency. Some questions, ahead of this Sunday's Presidential candidate debate on economic policy. - Are members of the Mexican elite really underestimating the risks, or just telling journalists there is not much to worry about, as it is in their interest to say that? - Are they underestimating the likelihood of the continuation of misguided populist policies under Claudia Sheinbaum or underestimating the prevailing fiscal / institutional / security / productivity etc. weaknesses of Mexico, or a combination? - Are Mexican businessmen really more optimistic than foreign investors? (I do not think so). - Do Mexican businessmen mainly think Claudia will just be politically weaker or easier to sway than AMLO? - Having mostly overreacted to the risks of an AMLO presidency, are they concluding that domestic politics is only one of many factors to consider when predicting the future in an economy as open, diversified, and US-driven as Mexico's? - Have they concluded that policies that raise the average and minimum wage, cut poverty, make big companies pay a larger share of taxes, reduce dependence on oil imports, promote public over private investment in energy, etc. etc. are the right way forward?
