🔥🔍 Risk Analysis in Goal Modeling: Securing Project Objectives! 🔥🔍 Ever heard of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill? It was a catastrophic event that rocked the oil industry, costing BP billions in damages and tarnishing its reputation. But did you know that proper risk analysis could have prevented this disaster? By identifying potential hazards and implementing preventive measures, companies can save millions in damages and protect the environment. 🛢️💰 (https://lnkd.in/gHMt-tvx) 💡 But hey, it's not just about avoiding disasters – it's also about maximizing opportunities. According to studies, companies that integrate risk analysis into their engineering projects experience a whopping 35% increase in project success rates (https://lnkd.in/g5eT-fsS). By anticipating and mitigating risks upfront, companies can ensure smoother project execution and higher returns on investment. That's a win-win for sure! 📈💼 Here's a brief list of risk analysis methods (with their pros and cons 😉): ♠ Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA): Identifying potential failure modes and their effects on system performance. Pro 👍🏻: Systematic approach to risk identification Con 👎🏻: Time-consuming process ♥ Fault Tree Analysis (FTA): Analyzing the probability of system failures based on various contributing factors. Pro👍🏻: Visual representation of failure pathways Con👎🏻: Limited to known failure modes 👔 Bowtie Analysis: Visualizing potential hazards, their causes, and consequences using a bowtie diagram. Pro👍🏻: Captures both preventive and mitigative measures Con👎🏻: Requires expertise to interpret results ♣ Monte Carlo Simulation: Assessing the impact of uncertainty by running multiple simulations with random inputs. Pro👍🏻: Provides probabilistic outcomes Con👎🏻: Requires extensive computational resources ♦ Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP): Identifying potential hazards through systematic examination of process deviations. Pro👍🏻: Encourages brainstorming and collaboration Con👎🏻: Resource-intensive process Here's to staying vigilant, staying prepared, and staying ahead of the curve! 🎉🛠️ #RiskAnalysis #GoalModeling #ProjectSuccess #SystemsEngineering

How much do we consider the consequences of a lack of match between job qualifications and process ipmlementation? In many organizations the alignment between job qualifications and the recruitment isn't seen, while it's necessary for effective process implementation. It can have significant consequences, including: A systemic approach to management involves understanding and managing the interrelated processes a coherent system.employee who lack this perspective may focus too narrowly on individual tasks, missing the big picture A strong process approach is vital for ensuring consistent and efficient workflow.when employees do not have the required process management skills,it can lead to inefficiencies and bottlenecks. #Process_governancy #industrial_engineering #planing #process_challenges

12 Years | Commercial Management| PhD in Smart Project Controls | PRINCE2 Practitioner Certified | Project Controls Manager on construction projects for smooth operations
Einstein did not have to prove himself to anyone in order to reinstate his findings about physics. The world naturally got to know. This is because he put the effort in understanding and being honest about the facts - he did the maths when everyone said it was otherwise. Therefore never believe that what people say is always correct - do the homework well! When I started my phd, Project controls was hardly in existence - and I said this has to be the way forward. It’s great now to see companies asking for project control expertise .. yet some of the job descriptions differ because project controls is still not defined by the industry standards. This led me to do my PhD in Smart project controls as the way forward for the industry. And I see a future where the Project Controller will have a bigger part and impact to play in many organizations. However projects need project controllers now more than ever. This is because of the increase in effort for continuous improvement throughout projects, thus controls for each check point is needed, whether it be in cost, quality, time or risk management. Yet the benchmark for protocols and performance is still lacking - and thus ‘corrective action’ becomes too late. Forensic Delay Analysis can play a huge part in project controls , however this seems to be heavily adopted in contract administration and not on a technical note.
