Despite our efforts, gaps remain in access to vital HIV prevention and treatment services. It's crucial that we redouble our efforts to address these gaps and accelerate our progress towards ending the HIV epidemic. Join the conversation and help raise awareness about this critical issue. 🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟 In a groundbreaking move to combat HIV/AIDS, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Bill SB 339 by Senator Scott Wiener on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. This critical measure is set to expand access to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) throughout California, marking a significant stride in the state's efforts to curb HIV transmission and provide essential preventive healthcare to at-risk individuals. PrEP, a daily pill that significantly reduces the risk of HIV transmission, has faced barriers to accessibility, including high costs and limited availability. However, with the passage of SB 339, these obstacles are being addressed head-on. At Radiant Health Centers, we're thrilled about the positive impact of SB 339. Expanding access to PrEP aligns with our mission to provide comprehensive medical care and support to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Together, we're moving closer to a future free from HIV transmission. 💪🌈 #SB339 #PrEPAccess #EndHIVEpidemic #HealthcareForAll #HealthEquity #lgbtqhealth

In the fight against HIV transmission, knowledge is power. It's crucial to recognize that abstinence stands as the only 100% effective method to prevent HIV transmission. By opting not to engage in sexual activity, individuals can completely eliminate the risk of HIV infection. However, for those who are sexually active, understanding their partner's HIV status and committing to mutual fidelity are vital steps in minimizing risk. Awareness and responsible choices are key in safeguarding our health and well-being. Let's continue to spread awareness and promote healthy practices in our communities. Together, we can make strides in HIV prevention and ensure a safer, healthier future for all. #HIVPrevention #HealthAwareness

Ever wonder what #healthequity means? Watch this to find a concrete example of how CDC in Guatemala is implementing the vision of bringing life saving HIV treatment to hard to reach populations in Guatemala.
In Quiché, Guatemala—a rural and predominantly Indigenous community—over 2,000 people are living with HIV. Located 4 to 6 hours away, HIV treatment and care was once inaccessible for many community members. CDC worked with local leaders to bring high-quality, culturally appropriate services closer to home. Since then: ✅ no patients have missed their treatment ✅ viral suppression has increased ✅ no one has died from HIV Watch this video to witness the power of this partnership to bridge gaps in healthcare access and save lives.
