Visiting the amazing HIP congress in Madrid, we were particularly impressed by the presentation from Circana, where we gained valuable insights into notable shifts and transformations occurring within the industry. One significant trend that stands out is the evident shift in consumer spending patterns towards alternative or supplementary channels for food and beverage consumption. This includes a growing preference for services like food delivery, takeaway options, and other non-traditional dining experiences. In light of these changing dynamics, ØIDO offers an easy-to-use tool that aligns with the evolving needs of the industry. Our solution provides a seamless platform for implementing and managing diverse ordering and payment processes, ensuring businesses can effectively cater to the preferences of a consumer base increasingly inclined towards these alternative dining channels. #HIP2024 #HospitalityTrends #AlternativeDining #RestaurantInnovation

In year one of retail service at Enloe Medical Center, we found café satisfaction scores rose from 75% to 87%. Since then, satisfaction scores have never dropped below 93%. During the first year of transitioning your onsite retail dining to a custom, #realfood dining model like ours, you’re guaranteed to see a lot of positive change within the dining experience: fresh instead of frozen foods, engaged culinary teams, innovative food trends, and managers who actively respond to requests. These initial changes are a given, but the truth is, we never stop striving on behalf of our partnerships. We value the follow-through it takes to grow alongside each unique partnership while continuing to deliver on our #realfood and wellness promise. With over 37 years of Real Food dining experience, we follow through on promises because it’s the right thing to do – we’re in it for the long run. It’s probably no surprise that the majority of consumers (92%) think food prices have been too high for too long. But that doesn’t mean we’ve checked our desire for indulgences at the door... More than two-thirds (69%) of consumers eat an indulgent treat at least once a week according to our 2024 Food Trends report, and our Experiential Dining report found that nearly 60% of consumers treat themselves to a unique or premium dining experience at least once a year. And beyond premium experiences, nearly two-thirds of consumers also frequently treat themselves to a meal out. There’s room for purposeful indulgence even in the most trying of economic times. #coolstat #foodprices #treatyourself #indulgentfood #foodinflation #foodtrends

It's startling to see such a mismatch between customer desires and restaurant offerings. The insights below, extracted from the recent State of the Restaurant 2024 report, highlight a clear discrepancy. 9 out of 10 consumers seek out restaurants for the novelty and variety they offer in dishes and drinks. Yet, here lies the paradox - despite a craving for diversity and innovation from customers, 70% of restaurant operators intend to keep their menus static, mirroring last year's offerings. Do you also see the problem here? Add to this the fact that 90% of operators recognise their customers are becoming more value-conscious, and I find it perplexing that so many aren't looking to evolve and shift their offerings. The message is loud and clear: diners today are in pursuit of an experience. They want to be surprised, delighted, and introduced to flavours and dishes previously uncharted. And they're willing to place value on these new experiences. It's a call to action for everyone in the foodservice sector, a prompt to push the boundaries of our creativity and to be fearless in the face of change. Innovation is a necessary ethos to thrive. And here at Welbilt, we understand this pulse of the industry. We're here to support operators in taking calculated risks, offering solutions that enhance kitchen productivity and encourage the exploration of new and exciting menu options. Let us empower you to be adventurous with your food. A recent survey from U.S. Foods revealed that 55% of customers prefer dining at restaurants over ordering takeout or delivery. This has increased by 12% since 2023. Fast-casual restaurants outperform other sectors in the industry, with 69% of diners reporting that to be their preference. Overall, it appears more consumers are seeking socialization and a pleasant atmosphere for their dining experiences, which makes sense considering the pandemic we just went through. #DiningPreferences #SpendingHabits #RestaurantTrends

Food item rankings continue to fluctuate due to factors like increased full-service dining, solo dining, health-conscious eating, multiculturalism, younger diners, and changing order patterns.
