https://lnkd.in/eJrztG-H Women and young people are leading the charge in political campaigns in Somaliland. We can only hope that they are not merely utilized for their influence, but instead play a pivotal role in driving meaningful change.

We Should Have a Talk – Fostering Dialogue Through Public Art Our art installation in Jinonice, We Should Have a Talk, has sparked debate and, unfortunately, acts of vandalism. While opinions vary, we believe constructive dialogue – not destruction – is the path forward. The installation addresses feminism and gender equality – critical themes for public spaces. While some find the messages too somber for children passing through, we see them as essential for awareness. We've already hosted two public discussions and aim to continue fostering engagement. Public art transforms spaces and inspires meaningful conversations. What topics do you think should feature more prominently in public art? Learn more about our project in news report below.

When did you last celebrate your achievement? Was it last year, 6 months ago, last month, or yesterday? Only 3 out of 10 women celebrate their wins*. Given these dismal numbers, we used poetry as a thought starter to get women to reflect on their successes. #WearYourWins inspires women to celebrate their victories, big or small, in their personal and professional lives. Own your achievements and share your success stories to inspire others to do the same. Your Every Win Deserves A Reward! 🌟 #WearYourWins CaratLane - A Tanishq Partnership https://lnkd.in/deNZZnYs *Based on an external study by Quantum: 28-45 years old, NCCS A, Female category buyers only

KfW Development Bank signed a loan agreement for EUR 150 million with Uzbekistan to support important reforms in the areas of social protection, gender equality and climate protection. The project is set up as parallel financing with the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and represents the first policy-based loan of German Financial Cooperation to Uzbekistan. The PBL is a financing instrument of German development cooperation that supports the implementation of reform steps in partner countries and thus improves the framework conditions for sustainable development. The loans are only disbursed once the pre-defined, ambitious reforms have been achieved. A second tranche in the same amount is planned for the second half of 2024 after the adoption of a second set of reforms. https://lnkd.in/dUEeEBNq

Strong message about lower women representation in workforce. An advertisement from a matrimonial company in India: Shaadi.org (Shaadi = Marriage). A girl child’s innocent response to why a ghost vanished when she apparently reached a certain age, brings to forefront the deep-rooted thinking on this topic. Her response is that she got married and stopped working. A few thoughts: 1. Having lived in different countries / continents, it is clear to me that the issue of women leaving workforce after marriage or having children is everywhere and not just India. 2. While we talk about gender equality, unless some of the issues are addressed at systemic level, it will be difficult to come out of it. For that, it would require investments and support from Governments and Corporations alike. 3. Nonetheless, a family’s support will keep creating success stories. https://lnkd.in/ecp45tij

Today im writing yet again about what the Western world defines as #feminist A thoroughly empty, useless word in light of how it stands by and watches women go to their deaths. In #Sudan women are literally committing suicide to avoid being raped, mutilated and murdered. In #Afghanistan women are tortured just for being women and confined to a dark room, invisible to the world. In #Gaza women and children are being slaughtered in the name of "self-defence". In #India women are being raped as if they were physical objects. In #Myanmar the #Rohingya women are mutilated and murdered by military forces. The list goes on and on and on. Yet, Western countries like #Canada #Germany #UK, of course the #USA etc insist on not just shouting out about how "feminist" they are, but have the gall to label official government policies as "feminist" and pretend that it is part of an international cooperation agenda. All the while doing absolutely NOTHING about any of these atrocities and in general about women’s long term lives. Worse still, instead claiming that they are sending "aid" to assist women there or doing “gender equality”. What they do love doing is self-validating themselves about the wonderful work they have been doing to "empower" women politically, socially and economically in many underprivileged countries. In light of these horrors and so many others, this is repulsive to hear. So much so that the word feminist is almost like a slur against the downtrodden masses of the world who are left to their own devices. Instead, a small grant for reproductive services here, a small grant for sewing classes or microcredit there and Western feminists are so pleased with how well they have done. Its time to end this charade that is Western donor led #feminism and actually admit that the privileged women (we already know the men dont) of the world dont give two hoots for women elsewhere unless it suits their own egos of self preservation. I mean look at how they treat the #indigenous and #immigrant women of colour in their own countries. As lowly threats rather than as equals. Feminism means nothing if you are happy to let women suffer and die and ignore some of the most horrifyingly acute issues that affect their lives today (and no, its not economic and political empowerment). Please read my Chapter; The Matriarchy Complex. White Feminist Disruption in Development in our book, White Saviorism in International Development (www.darajapress.com) to get a taste of how so-called Western feminists mostly behave in non-western countries and how this impacts on how we view them (not how they view us).

🌟 "Do It Like a Girl" - Redefining the Narrative 🌟 The phrase "do it like a girl" has often been used in a derogatory context, suggesting weakness or ineffectiveness. However, it’s time to reclaim and redefine this expression as a symbol of empowerment and strength! In a world where men still predominantly hold power, WE are continuously fighting for equality and opportunities. We must celebrate the achievements of women and acknowledge that we can accomplish anything just as well—if not better—than our male counterparts. Did you know? 💜 Women represent approximately 47% of the global workforce, yet they are still underrepresented in leadership roles. 💜According to a McKinsey report, only 28% of senior vice president roles are held by women, highlighting the need for continued advocacy and change. 💜The World Economic Forum estimates it will take another 135 years to close the global gender gap. Let’s embrace the phrase #DoitlikeaGirl as a rallying cry for resilience, determination, and capability. Together, we can inspire future generations to break barriers and achieve greatness. 💪✨ #Empowerment #GenderEquality #WomenInLeadership #DoItLikeAGirl #WomenInBusiness https://lnkd.in/g98jXjAT
