Someone asked me why, so here it is:
The first sentence is the rule for using 'na' when the next word that comes after it is a location/place or position, where the word for the position begins with a vowel.
The second sentence is the rule for 'na' when it is part of a verb.
'eri' is not the name of a location but a part of a verb - e(prefix) ri(root).
You use the first style for situations like n'Ọnịcha, n'elu, n'okpúrù. Ọnịcha, elu, and okpuru being names of locations.

A Person Is a Person Because of Other People
There’s many ways to say it: “Motho ke motho ka batho” in seSotho, or “Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” in isiZulu — this phrase roughly translate to “A person is a person because of other people”, or "I am, because you are." This proverb is the bedrock of South Africa’s society, which is rooted in community.
Africans have the spirit of Ubuntu without having to try, it is part of who we have always been, and the acknowledgement of the fact that we are a product of each other’s actions and decisions. Ubuntu is a reflection of what it takes to live in true unity, and explores what it means to work, live, and thrive together.
La Fageda firmly believes that every person has a place in the community. Learn about how they accomplish this in their workplace culture.
This is the power of #outwardmindset.
#Seeingpeopleaspeople is more than just a tagline. It's a way of being.
It is #ubuntu.
Let's return humanity to the workplace, our communities, and our families.
At the Arbinger Institute South Africa, we can help you to do just that by introducing you to why #mindset matters and how you can change it.
