I'm looking forward to joining TAMWILCOM at GITEX AFRICA on Wednesday May 29th to discuss a shared initiative to attract international seed-stage investment and strategic support to Moroccan start-ups. This partnership seeks to attract regional and international investment to speed up the growth of start-ups in Morocco and across the region, building upon The World Bank InnovInvest program which was launched in 2017 to support Morocco's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Start-ups can be important job creators offering needed innovation to priorities such as decarbonization and Industry 4.0. While funding for African tech start-ups reached a record $5.4 billion in 2022, according to Briter Bridges, a research firm— the amount is just a fraction of the funding available in Europe, North America, and other regions. The disparity underscores the urgent need for more financial and technical support for Africa’s vibrant start-up scene. Come join us for the discussion!
