Healthcare is often treated as a very "one-size-fits-all" field, but achieving global health equity means recognizing that solutions need to be far from universal. When we aim to tackle global health equity, the conversation can't strictly be around access—we need to consider and redesign systems to truly fit local needs. When we prioritize building healthcare infrastructure over-delivering short-term aid, we create pathways for lasting impact. #GlobalHealthEquity #HealthEquity #GlobalHealth

After nearly 30 years at large healthcare systems and prestigious academic medical centers, I joined Arkos Health in 2023 to participate in value-based principles that most healthcare organizations talk about, but never implement. Over one-year later, I can proudly say that the mission-driven efforts of the leaders, and the impact on patients by Arkos in multiple states, truly makes value-based care a reality. It's been inspiring to see the concept envisioned in the 1960s by the American Academy of Pediatrics come to life in the everyday care that Arkos provides - whole person care, meeting the patient where they are at, oftentimes in their home. There is no going back for me - this is the last space left in U.S. healthcare that can effectuate what has been envisioned by value-based principles. While we watch our nation get sicker and go bankrupt from the trillions of dollars in healthcare spend, I can't help but conjure the vision of the secret message smuggled by R2D2 from Princess Leah..."Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, your my only hope." #ValueBasedCare #HealthEquity #GlobalHealth #DemocratizeHealthcare #WalkingTheTalk

Importance of investing in health. It’s been great to see leaders recognise the need to view health as a long-term investment at the World Health Organization’s 77th World Health Assembly this week. By putting health first and investing more strategically, we can help ensure more equitable and sustainable health systems, leading to better outcomes for patients around the world. While #WHA77 comes to an end tomorrow, we must keep the momentum going and work together to transform the future of healthcare to ensure everyone has the opportunity to live their healthiest life. #JourneyToBetterHealthcare #ItStartsWithHealth

Health systems are fragmented and not centered around the needs of the people they serve, leaving many without sufficient access to essential healthcare. D-tree works to change that. Together with governments, communities and health workers we develop innovative solutions that make health systems more personalized, accessible and coordinated.
