My first Heritage Month event has ended, and I wanted to reflect on what I learned through this experience. I have been able to hone my skills in: Event Planning and Project Management - In partnership with my fellow panel planning team, I have been managing the Stakeholder Management - I have improved my communication skills by keeping the Hispanic Latine Heritage Month planning committee informed on progress and deliverables. DEI Oversight and Guidance - I used my previous experience in DEI along with expertise gained from my time at Seramount to create questions for the panelists, provide perspective and guidance on event strategy and logistics, and offer advice on how best to collect post event data and metrics. Time Management and Prioritization - Since this is more of a stretch project, I had to manage my time wisely to get things done, while also prioritizing the Advisory work and projects. I got most of my advisory work done throughout the week and used my light workload on Fridays to do panel work. #DEI #HeritageMonths #HispanicHeritageMonth #diversityequityandinclusion #diversityandinclusion #eventplanning

Happy Hispanic/Latiné Heritage Month! Sanjana Singh, Jasmin Flores, and I planned a panel on intersectionality in the workplace. We held our final meeting today to review any last-minute logistics, and I am proud of how everything is coming together. Lorianna Mapps, Ed.D. and Lily Oyarzun are incredible. This event is open to all EAB employees, and I am so excited for this amazing conversation facilitated by Michael Jimenez! Thank you to MOSAIC @ EAB for trusting us with putting this together. The Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Benchmarks (GDEIB) standards aim to cultivate leaders who inspire inclusion, champion diversity, and improve the quality of work/life integration, among other goals. At the 𝗚𝗗𝗘𝗜𝗕 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 2024, HR Metrics was privileged to have Jamal Nasir, Chief Human Resources Officer at HBL, share his insights on these DEI principles. Jamal highlighted HBL's commitment to these goals, sharing success stories such as sensitizing staff on gender and disability awareness. He discussed how HBL has made significant strides in promoting gender equality and disability inclusion, including training over 12,000 employees on supporting people with disabilities and 2,000 employees on sign language.
