Creating a cohesive color scheme in your home doesn’t have to be complicated! A great rule of thumb is the 60-30-10 guideline: - 60% Base Color: This makes up the majority of your space, covering walls and large furniture. Neutrals like soft grays, whites, or beiges are ideal foundations. - 30% Secondary Color: Complement your base with a color that adds depth. Use this for accent walls, cabinetry, or upholstery to create contrast and interest. - 10% Accent Color: Introduce pops of bold color through decor, pillows, or artwork. This adds personality without overwhelming the room. Using this balance will ensure your home feels harmonious and well-designed. Interested in applying this principle to your home? Tiles are versatile elements that add character and functionality to spaces, perfect for accentuating both walls and floors. For modern interiors, consider large-format tiles with minimal grout lines for a seamless look, or geometric patterns for a bolder, artistic statement. Textured tiles, such as stone or wood-look finishes, bring warmth and an organic feel, perfect for creating a cozy, natural ambiance. In smaller areas like bathrooms, mosaic tiles add intricate detail and a splash of color. Stylize Studio recommends experimenting with contrasting grout colors or mixed materials for a distinctive, customized look that transforms ordinary spaces into sophisticated designs.

A well-chosen light fixture can instantly add interest and personality to a space, drawing attention and setting the tone for the room’s style. Whether it’s a modern geometric lamp, a vintage chandelier, or something with a sculptural design, these pieces not only provide functional lighting but also act as striking visual elements that elevate the overall decor.

Is yellow a good color for a hallway? Yes! Yellow is naturally a warming and inviting shade that pairs really well with other shades such as black, gray, navy blue and white. However, yellow can quickly go wrong in an interior space when used with the wrong colors. It doesn’t have to be used as a dominant color, but it can be used effectively as an accent color on architectural details, light fittings, through color blocking and decor accessories. It is a color associated with: •the sun •happiness and well-being •it is believed to be serene and uplifting •in Feng Shui pale yellow represents earth, while strong yellow symbolizes fire One of my favourite ways to introduce a bold splash of yellow color without encompassing the entire hallway is to paint the front door yellow. Whether you put weight in the symbolism of yellow or not, you have to admit that it’s just a happy color. #interiordecorinspiration #colorconsultant #interiordecor
