And why? ‏Ans/ AC because electricity is generated from power plants as AC, so converting it to DC, then transmitting it, then converting it to AC is a very expensive process, so it is better for it to be AC.

Concept of HVDC: I intend to break this one in two parts. Part A will tell about basic concept and schemes and Part B about basic layouts. This will have DC power transmission studies, DC protections , breakers , CT, PT sizing, Power Electronics and communication exchange between converter station as part of detailing not included here.
