Finding ways to decarbonise the ‘hard-to-abate’ sectors of our economy, such as long-distance transport and industrial manufacturing, will be a crucial element in Australia’s path towards net-zero. But how can this be done? At EE Australia, we convert clean, renewable energy from wind and solar farms into sustainable products such as green hydrogen or e-methanol, a process known as ‘Power-to-X (PtX)’. These products can then be used to electrify important industrial processes, such as steel or cement production, or to sustainably fuel shipping, aviation, and other forms of long-distance transport. To illustrate the powers of PtX, here, an excellent model created by our colleague Alexander Reumert shows how e-methanol produced at European Energy’s PtX Kassø plant can be used to greenify shipping. As we scale up our PtX capabilities here in Australia, we’re excited to see plants like this contribute to the country’s clean energy transition! #powertox #renewableenergy #greenhydrogen

A global switch to #cleanenergy is now the need of the hour! 🌏 As environmental concerns continue to increase, so does the need for urgent transition to clean energy. ICL is taking a lead in the transition to clean renewable energy on an industrial scale with one of the world’s boldest and most ambitious energy conversion projects. 🍃 Introducing the Revolutionary Green Sdom Initiative; serving as a major milestone in our sustainability journey, the project aims to convert the entire Sdom site to #renewableenergy, eliminating a whopping one million tons of carbon emissions annually. 💡 But how can renewable energy truly power production plants on such a massive scale? 🔦 Yossi Ron sheds light on this remarkable endeavour, emphasizing the need for reliable sources of sustainable energy, innovative energy storage solutions, and a seamless infrastructure transition. Our commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (#SBTi) further amplifies our efforts. While the world pledged a 30% carbon reduction by 2030, ICL courageously committed to a 50% reduction, a significant undertaking that drives us forward. 🚀 Stay tuned for Part Two of the interview, where Yossi Ron will delve into the specific plans for the Sdom plant and the exciting role of hydrogen in this #greenenergy revolution. 🎯 Read more here >> https://lnkd.in/dB7Ejvxt Noam Goldstein I Nimrod Haim Levy

What does this mean? 🤔 💚As part of our ongoing sustainability journey, Traffi have switched over to a REGO Certified Electrical Supplier, meaning that we are now using electricity that was produced from 100% renewable energy sources. The Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) scheme provides transparency to consumers about the proportion of electricity that suppliers source from renewable electricity. This scheme provides certificates called REGOs which demonstrate electricity has been generated from renewable sources. We are proud to have taken this step and are looking forward to progressing on our sustainability journey – watch this space🤫 #Traffi #RenewableEnergy #Sustainable #Sustainability #CarbonNeutral #Journey #SustainabilityJourney

Regional Technical Expert | Climate-Energy and Circular Economy | ECOWAS Specialized Energy Agency (ECREEE) | PhD Fellow
The ECOWAS region is faced with the interrelated challenges of energy access, and climate change, which are intertwined with the region’s economic development. Rural electrification in some countries is below 10%, and the average regional electrification is about 50%, which negatively impact the implementation of national and regional strategies voir programmes aimed at attracting foreign and domestic investments across sectors that would provide basic social services for a thriving society. Seeking to reduce the overreliance on oil-based power plants, meet the growing energy demand, refurbish existing energy generation and distribution infrastructure, and reduce consumer tariff, the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) and the ECOWAS Specialized Energy Agency (ECREEE) established the ECOWAS Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Facility (EREEEF). EREEEF is a US$ 75 Million climate-energy venture capital that will serve as a catalyzing-solution mechanism to address the traditional financial barriers for the Banking industry to invest at scale in energy projects. EREEEF will enable the 15 Member States in the ECOWAS region to access grants and zero interest loans for preparation and implementation of bankable climate friendly, affordable and renewable projects and programmes. This provision will contribute towards achieving global climate commitment and the sustainable socio-economic development targets.
