Fixing problems and best practices when using hot melts Identifying glue issues: 🔎 Blocked nozzles ✅ Flush the tank out and replace with fresh glue until no char is visible when draining ✅ Replace inline filters and nozzles ✅ Turn glue temperature down to reduce charring ✅ Upgrade glue to next generation to reduce char ✅ Ensure no debris is getting into tank (cardboard dust, food etc) ✅ Increase nozzle size to reduce instances of blocked nozzles 🔎 Charring ✅ If carbonisation occurs, flush the old glue out and refill once all char is cleared out ✅ Use stand-by button if not in use for long periods of time ✅ Ensure tank is set at lower temperature, step up to hose, step up to nozzle ✅ Review to see if a lower temperature glue would be better 🔎 Cobwebbing / stringing ✅ Check glue is not overspraying past box/carton ✅ Ensure nozzle is kept as close to substrate as possible ✅ If there is visible tailing from nozzle, try increasing nozzle temperature in 5ºC increments ✅ Check glue is not coming in contact with guide rail ✅ Check there is no glue build up on the magic eye creating false firing 🔎 Pop opens ✅ Change to a faster setting glue ✅ Turn the glue temperature down – especially at point of application ✅ Reduce the amount of glue applied (reduce air pressure to tank) ✅ Ensure sufficient time in compression to the carton/case To get a copy of the complete Hints and Tips Guide, call ☎️+44 (0) 845 5212057 or email ✉️marketing@alphabond.com #Alphabond #Adhesives # Hotmelt

The principle of an #ultrasonic cutter is completely different from conventional one. It uses the energy of ultrasonic to melt the #material to be cut. Therefore, the ultrasonic cutting does not require a sharp cutting edge, nor does it require a large pressure, and does not cause any chipping or breakage. At the same time, since the cutting blade is subjected to ultrasonic vibration, the frictional resistance is particularly small, and the material to be cut is not easily adhered to the blade. This is particularly effective for #cutting viscous and elastic materials, frozen materials such as food, cake, cheese, rubber, etc., or objects that are inconvenient to apply pressure. #ultrasonic #ultrasonicmachine #ultrasoniccutting

We put parts through a rigorous cleaning process to prepare them for powder coating. The process we use depends on the size of the parts. We dip small to medium-sized parts in a series of tanks. First, a degreaser removes oil and grime with detergent. Then, the parts go through a clean water bath to rinse off any residue. Finally, parts receive a protective coating in a phosphate tank to aid adhesion, prevent rusting, and ensure durability. Since larger parts won’t fit inside the tanks, we clean them with paint thinner. This solvent also removes paint and markings such as bar codes. In addition, we may power wash parts, but it depends on the material’s potential for rusting.
