Hi 5 people I know on LinkedIn 👋🏼 Happy Solstice and World Refugee Day! In my next post, I’ll share an upcoming article I wrote on the link between neuroaesthetics and joy. Our ancestors knew this connection intuitively and science is finally catching up. The article explores why people amid crackdowns in Iran and horrific conditions at the US-Mexico border, Gaza, and Congo prioritize communal celebrations. I interviewed 2 academic experts and 4 remarkable colleagues in the most dangerous parts of the world. Here's more⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gK3vwdfj

🚨The urgent call for ukrainain family reunification in so called “peace agreements” 🇺🇸🇺🇦 We hear so much news about options to reach a peace agreement that may involve giving occupied territories to Russia. This is wrong and deeply troubling. It’s not just about land; it’s about real people—families and children who are living in fear and uncertainty every day. These innocent ukrainain children have already faced too much pain. They deserve safety, and a chance to grow up without the shadow of war hanging over them. A peace agreement must include the return of children who have been deported to Russia, allowing them to come back to their families without any conditions. No child should have to endure separation from their loved ones, especially after all they have suffered. ‼️Allowing Russia to keep these territories while ignoring the rights of children is simply unacceptable. 👉We must fight to ensure that the voices of those living under occupation are heard and that their needs are prioritised. 👉We must stand up for a future where families can be together in peace. 👉In short, we should demand a peace agreement that not only protects the rights of families but guarantees the safe return of every child to their home, free from fear and full of hope. 📸 Picture taken by Emile Foundation in the frontline village of Kharkiv, Zalochiv, January 2025.

When most people think about Israel, they often imagine a monolithic society. But having traveled extensively throughout the land and worked closely with local ministries, I've witnessed something far more remarkable: a vibrant, complex tapestry of cultures, backgrounds, and stories. First Century Foundations supports over 70 ministries that serve an incredibly diverse population. Let me share a glimpse of this beautiful complexity: Imagine a single day of humanitarian work where: ☑ A Russian immigrant family receives food assistance ☑ A Sudanese refugee child gets educational support ☑ An Ethiopian Jewish family receives medical help ☑ An Arab Christian congregation provides community services ☑ A Jewish single mom has her baby’s needs provided for an entire year These aren't just statistics—they're real lives, real stories of hope and resilience. Our humanitarian efforts reach beyond simple aid. We're supporting integration, healing, and community building in a land often misunderstood by the outside world. From Holocaust survivors to new immigrants, from native-born Israelis to those seeking refuge, each person carries a unique story of survival, hope, and connection. The ministries we support understand something profound: true compassion knows no ethnic, religious, or cultural boundaries. They embody a biblical principle of loving your neighbour—regardless of who that neighbour might be. When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we're not just praying for a place. We're praying for people. Real, beautiful people with intricate histories and incredible resilience. This is the Israel I know. This is the Israel we support. #SupportIsrael #HumanitarianHope #UnityInDiversity #OneNewMan

Here's another song I created with Suno - let me know what you think! "Hiraeth, Rise Up (A Song of Hope for Afghan and Ukrainian Refugees)" is meant as an anthem that blends traditional Afghan and Ukrainian musical influences with contemporary Afrobeats and Gospel elements. This unique fusion serves to create an energetic and uplifting message of hope and solidarity for refugees from these regions. The song draws on the rich cultural heritages of Afghanistan and Ukraine, incorporating: - Hiraeth: A Welsh word that conveys a deep sense of longing and homesickness, often for a place to which one cannot return. It captures the profound emotions of displacement and loss experienced by refugees. - Buzkashi: An Afghan sport that symbolizes strength, endurance, and teamwork. By referencing Buzkashi, the song highlights the resilience and unity of the Afghan people, encouraging them to stand strong together despite their hardships. - Kozak Spirit: Reflecting the historical Ukrainian Cossacks known for their bravery and independence. This reference emphasizes the strength, independence, and fighting spirit of the Ukrainian people, celebrating their cultural pride and determination to endure. Through its diverse musical elements and powerful lyrics, the song aims to uplift and inspire refugees, reminding them that they are not alone in their struggles and that there is global support for their courage and resilience. ** Disclaimer: I receive no financial reward or any compensation if you listen to the song. I shared it for 2 reasons: supporting refugees is a cause I care about and it's exciting to me when there are new advances in technology like with Suno's AI. https://lnkd.in/egNN9PDv #SunoAI #Refugees #NewSong #Afghanistan #Ukraine #GenerativeAI
