In Burkina Faso, escalating violence and conflict have created severe challenges in education and healthcare accessibility. The crisis has displaced around 2 million people, with 60% being children. Many of these children are suffering from trauma and lack essential mental health support. The conflict has also led to the closure of schools, impacting nearly 850,000 children, and the shutdown of hundreds of healthcare facilities, leaving 3.6 million people without medical care. The compounded effects of these closures severely limit educational opportunities and basic services for children, exacerbating their plight in conflict-affected areas. Let us join together in prayer for the people of Burkina Faso, especially the vulnerable children who are facing unimaginable hardships. 🙏 Compassion International is actively working to provide relief and support to these affected communities. Through the dedicated efforts of our church partners and field staff, we are helping to restore hope and rebuild lives by offering critical resources and services. Let's support and amplify the mission to bring healing and education to those in need. #PrayForBurkinaFaso #CompassionInternational #SupportEducation #HealthcareForAll #ChildrenInConflict

Child protection in Emergencies is such an important aspect of work that international social workers can get involved in. Reflecting back to when I provided training for social workers in Zhytomyr, #Ukraine on 9 August 2022. The training was for staff of Lumos and social workers on #casemanagement in #humanitarian contexts and "#Trauma resulting from #war" for childcare workers in #Moldova. Teamwork and multidisciplinary working becomes such an essential part of working in humanitarian contexts. 🖐🏾 I am certainly looking for more opportunities to work in the field of child protection in humanitarian contexts and alternative care, especially having trained in traumatic stress with Trauma Research Foundation & PESI. Lumos support governments to reform care systems. Wishing the Ukraine and Moldovan team the best as they do such important work.
