The reason why I am finally signing up has to do with the fact that I have seen such incredible need in different workplaces, classrooms, public venues and homes for people to disrupt harmful cultural perceptions and behaviours. My hope is that I can pair my own reflections with useful facilitation insights to become better skilled in guiding peer educators in their personal/ professional learning journeys toward #culturalhumility and #decolonization.

AndHumanity is seeking a learning and or education facilitator who is a BC resident who identifies as Chinese and is familiar with how to engage the diverse array of Chinese communities in BC. This individual will help to develop and co-facilitate two community-focused learning sessions. We encourage folks with a diversity of intersectionalities to reach out! Project Summary: Facilitate a custom learning series for a provincial tourism organization on intercultural skills to engage with the priority focus community of BC residents of Chinese descent and the diversity within the cultural identity of being Chinese. There are three sessions in the series. You will support the development, presentation, supplemental materials and co-facilitation of two sessions specific and applicable to this diverse community. We invite individuals with diverse intersectionalities to apply. Details: The session and materials development will take place from January to March 2024. A start date is planned for January 4 and will be confirmed. The session dates are tentatively scheduled on February 20, 2024 and March 6, 2024. Commitment and compensation: We estimate a time commitment of 35 hours for onboarding, session/presentation/materials development, facilitation, and internal meetings for both sessions. The individual will set their own fee. To ensure fair compensation, we suggest no less than $2,625 total. Transparency in process: We are looking to collaborate with one individual for the development and facilitation of two sessions. All folks who are interested will be considered on a rolling basis. We will select an individual with the lived and professional experience and availability that is best aligned with the role. We’re always looking to build relationships with people who can bring expertise and lived experience to Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion marketing, communications, research, and engagement projects like this one.
