Data analysts: Our job is NOT to do what we’re told. Our job is to help our businesses achieve their strategic goals. If a piece of work comes across a data analyst’s desk and there is no clarity in how it helps achieve strategic outcomes, then it is our responsibility dismiss that work. After all, our time and effort is a company resource. It our job to ensure that resource doesn’t get wasted. 🫡

Here are some data-cleaning terms you should become familiar with in Excel: - Data Validation - Find and Replace - Trim - Left/Mid/Right - Power Query - Text to Columns - Remove Duplicates Happy Learning :)

Prior to this time, I always believed that interns are students or fresh graduates with zero experience but exhibit the willingness to learn. The whole purpose of internship is for them to acquire the experience they need, to enable them apply for entry level opportunities. These days you will see an internship position with experience level requirement of 0-1 year of experience. When you check the job description, it will read something like: “We are xyz company looking for data analysts or fresh graduates with zero to one year of experience, with demonstrative willingness to learn. Knowledge of basic programming languages like Python, SQL or Excel is a plus.” The funniest part of the whole thing happens after submitting your application. The company will reach out to you with an assessment task as part of the selection process, then you will be seeing Fraud Detection (machine learning) task, NLP analysis task, Customer behavior analysis, Customer churn prediction task etc. My question is: “Are these tasks zero experience tasks?”
