A new narrative review on regenerative medicine in gynecology by Magee-Womens investigator Dr. Pamela Moalli and one of her PhD students, Jules Balough, MS, was recently published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. It explores the potential of regenerative medicine to address issues affecting the female reproductive tract caused by congenital abnormalities, medical interventions, and aging. The review highlights current cell-based and scaffolding therapies used in animal and tissue culture models, examines their limitations and implementation challenges, and considers the future outlook of the field. The goal is to leverage endogenous mechanisms for maintaining tissue integrity and promoting healing after injury or disease. Read the full report here: https://bit.ly/3Vz9OUH

Great Honor! A new research has been published in the European Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics and Reproductive Biology - EJOG 🥇 The aim of the study was to compare the accuracy of diagnosing retained products of conception (RPOC) in symptomatic and asymptomatic women. It was a retrospective study of 225 women who had hysteroscopy for suspected RPOC. Key findings: - Asymptomatic women had more complications during hysteroscopy. - No major differences in endometrial thickness or uterine fluid, but positive Doppler flow was more common in asymptomatic women. - An endometrial thickness over 1.49 cm was useful for diagnosing RPOC. - Hysteroscopy improved diagnostic accuracy compared to ultrasound alone. **Conclusion:* Hysteroscopy combined with ultrasound improves the accuracy of diagnosing RPOC, especially using an endometrial thickness cutoff of 1.49 cm. Regular ultrasound assessment is advised for women at risk. **Link to Full Article:** https://lnkd.in/dnmihn4J Ala Aiob Inshirah Sgayer Lior Lowenstein Avishalom Sharon

In our latest work, we tested the effectiveness of a new endometrial preparation protocol for office hysteroscopy. The study, which is part of a line of research involving the use of multiple estroprogestins, would appear to demonstrate the efficacy of rapid and random start endometrial preparation. Nomegestrol acetate/estradiol treatment could provide rapid, satisfactory, and low-cost preparation of the endometrium before office polypectomy, thereby improving surgical performance and women's compliance. Random start of preparation could also allow for more efficient scheduling of procedures and faster sliding of waiting lists. The paper was published in European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology by Elsevier! The paper is freely accessible for 50 days at: https://lnkd.in/d7bK8mbY

🌟 Publication Announcement: 🌟 I am humbled to share our latest correspondence in the International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, addressing comments from Dr. Douxfils et al. on our meta-analysis of fezolinetant for vasomotor symptoms (VMS) in postmenopausal women. In their study published in The Lancet, Dr. Douxfils et al. identified increased neoplastic risks and suggested we consider these potential risks. In our correspondence, we agree that this area warrants further investigation. However, we emphasized that stratifying the results into benign and malignant risks could provide clearer insights, while also maintaining the focus on the efficacy of fezolinetant. We thank Dr. Douxfils et al. for their interest in our meta-analysis and appreciate the opportunity to engage in this important discussion. https://lnkd.in/dxDhi7NP
