When it is Essential to fit an Input Choke to Inverter Drives Small and Medium sized Drives without internal DC Chokes need a relatively soft supply, to keep the input Current within the design range. Use on a High Fault Level supply will have high rms and high harmonic Current. The Solution is to fit 1%, 2% or 4% Input Chokes. Medium to Large Drives with internal DC Chokes, need 1% minimum supply impedance, to complete protection of the front-end diodes/thyristors. If this not available in the supply, the Solution is to fit 1% (minimum) Input Chokes. An Input Choke reduces Voltage transients and other supply disturbances in a weaker supply, or Applications where a sliding busbar or brush-gear provides the incoming power supply. Voltage Drop of 9.2V, 4.6V and 2.3V approximately will be present across 4%, 2% and 1% Chokes. Excessive Voltage Drop will cause reduced torque available at the motor. Programming for Schneider inverter ATV 320 to control an electric elevator. Before practical implementation, I implemented and simulated first using Yaskawa j1000 inverter. The following was required: 1) A program to control the elevator via selector button and specify a direction for forward and a direction for reverse, thus controlling it remotely from the terminal control circuit. 2) Control the frequency to a value of 40 Hz and control it locally. 3) Do ramping stopping and starting so that during start the motor ramps for 5 seconds and during stop press, ramping is done for 3 seconds. 4) DC injection operates at half the motor rated current for 5 seconds during start and 3 seconds during stop. 5) Use the button to create an eternal fault and use three different speeds to control the elevator speed.📝📝🧷♥

To test alternator diodes with a multimeter, set the multimeter to diode test mode. Connect the multimeter's positive lead to the alternator's output terminal and the negative lead to the alternator's case (ground). A good diode will show a low reading in one direction (typically 0.5-0.8 volts) and a high resistance or OL (open loop) in the reverse direction. Repeat for each diode.
