While the terms "teacher" and "educator" are often used interchangeably, there are subtle differences between the two. A teacher typically refers to someone who imparts knowledge and instructs students in a specific subject or skill. They focus on delivering curriculum and facilitating learning in a classroom setting. On the other hand, an educator goes beyond the role of a teacher. Educators not only teach the subject matter but also strive to inspire, motivate, and shape students holistically. They focus on the overall development of students, including their values, character, and life skills. Educators aim to nurture a love for learning and encourage critical thinking and creativity. In essence, while all educators are teachers, not all teachers can be considered educators.

Educator resource alert Tamara Cleaver shares a simple yet impactful infographic on how we create the most effective classrooms for students and staff
What makes an effective classroom? For me... It's the visable presence of high challenge and high support. It's that learners needs are met, they are supported and that objectives are challenging but there is the offer of adaptive teaching strategies which are suited to the learners needs. It's where relationships flourish and are built openly and honestly and boundaries are upheld. Students feel valued and as tho they belong in the environment. Staff make connections with their student and provide a welcoming environment. It's consistency but also flexibility and differentiation. And a calm and respectful approach, where staff are well regulated and self aware and are able to distinguish the behaviour from the individual and that behaviour is communicating an unmet need. That they believe success is possible.

Nice, short article from #edu genius Bryan Goodwin for ASCD about the impact that Alternative Certified and Uncertified teachers is having on #schools in #texas (where up to 40/50% of teachers are not fully-certified). What these teachers really need: ✅ Help with student motivation and behavior ✅ Lesson Planning guidance ✅ “delete a lot of the fluff and make things simple” by focusing on basic teaching practices and step-by-step guidance ✅ Supportive mentoring Funny thing--- Sibme literally does all of these things 👆 All for a fraction of the cost of many traditional supports. https://lnkd.in/gkzUhKvi

Essential Agreements: This year of my teaching, I started with a different perspective of creating essential agreements with my learners, considering the skills and attributes. My learners collaborated well in this process, and I would like to share one agreement that blew my mind when it came from one of my learners: 'Make friends by putting our differences aside.' This experience highlighted the importance of listening to and valuing each learner's input. Let the learners take the lead, and you will be amazed at the wisdom and empathy they bring to the classroom. This approach not only fostered a sense of community but also encouraged respect and understanding among the learners. . . . #studentagency #essentialagreements #learnersagreements #classroommanagement #classroomvisuals #collaboration #respect #learnersagency #ibpyp #inquiryclassroom

Skills required in working with learners with special needs and support programs. 1.Peer tutoring:This method involves using other students to help learners with learning difficulties. 2.Group work: This is usually effective where learners have in a group are of mixed abilities. The task may involve each learner doing abit of the task so that they can complete the work together and contribute to the finished product. 3. Individualized instruction: The teacher may initiate an individualised education program for the learner who is experiencing difficulties in learning. This should be done with others who are knowledgeable about the curriculum requirements as well as appropriate adaptations that are possible for the learners with special needs to access the education. 4.Team teaching: This approach involves for you to "open the door " to your colleagues in teaching so that they can share there expertise to assist learners experiencing difficulties in the school.

The global E-Learning industry is set to burgeon into a $270 Billion powerhouse by 2026. Teachers are reshaping the educational landscape by moving away from traditional school structures. The intricate infrastructure once exclusive to institutions, encompassing Learning Management Systems, Data Handling, and Communications, is swiftly becoming accessible to individual teachers. Welcome to the era of Single-Teacher schools – a future where educators deliver unparalleled services in specific niches, surpassing the standards set by schools. The focus of these solopreneur teachers remains undivided, unlike their school counterparts who contend with a myriad of academic and non-academic tasks. For schools to remain relevant, adaptation is key. Prioritize investing in the professional development of teachers over marketing gimmicks. The future of education lies in the hands of these tech-savvy solopreneurs, who, with the aid of technology, are redefining the value proposition once exclusive to school infrastructure. In the educational landscape of tomorrow, it's not about having the grandest brick-and-mortar structures; it's about having the brightest teaching minds. Successful schools of the future will be those that evolve seamlessly with the times. #EdTech #FutureOfEducation #EvolvingEducation

The strength of a school lies in its teachers. If schools prioritise teacher training, sucession planning and teacher happiness then the stakeholders who stand to gain the most are our students. Teacher happiness has a direct impact on student performance….. For all the million things a teacher does……a school must reward them with continuous professional development and mentoring for excellence and success.
