IPL session is here, and so is fantasy gaming! 💵 Fantasy sports market in India was worth about USD 25.44 billion in 2022 and is expected to balloon to a whopping USD 72.06 billion by 2030! Here's something interesting: have you noticed how Dream11 is everywhere in IPL? Yep, they're sponsoring a bunch of teams as key sponsors. This ramped-up marketing comes after GST was introduced last year. Dealing with thin profits, taxes, and now GST isn't easy for companies in this industry. I'm curious to see how this intense marketing battle plays out. My hunch? With Dream11 already having a big piece of the pie, smaller companies might feel the heat. This could lead to a pure monopoly as Dream11 grows even bigger, giving them more control over platform costs. If the decision to remove GST is made, Dream11 could emerge as the eventual winner. Apart from the business side, it'll definitely feel strange to see MSD, Virat, and Rohit playing under new captains.
