https://lnkd.in/d5R7MqUq America's Backyard To effectively challenge nations like China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran, the United States must return to the principles of the Monroe Doctrine and prioritize its own backyard first. Joseph Ledford December 9, 2024 The United States faces geopolitical threats and challenges from nations like China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. Rather than confront these nations directly, the United States should look to President Reagan's Cold War playbook of active diplomatic, economic, and security partnerships with Latin American nations. To secure long-term regional stability and prosperity, the U.S. must abandon symbolic gestures and, instead, recommit to the principles of the Monroe Doctrine and return its attention to America’s own backyard.

Behind closed doors, the architects of war, who dine together in opulent halls, never taste the bitterness of battle or smell the stench of death. They thrive on the chaos they sow, benefiting from the suffering of the masses, while the world mourns the loss of innocence and humanity on the blood-soaked stage of history. Do you agree with the following statement? Write your thoughts on war in the comments.

June 6, 1944 is arguably the world's most important day in modern history. It was the day the allied forces invaded Nazi-occupied Europe. D-Day! On tomorrow's 80th anniversary we will celebrate the bravery of the soldiers, sailors and airmen that help free a continent but how did they do it from a logistics standpoint? #DDay #Logistics #SupplyChain #MindBlown https://lnkd.in/eNzwrVXB

On this Patriot Day, we pause to honor the resilience, courage, and unity shown in the face of unimaginable tragedy. We remember the lives lost and the heroes who rose that day, selflessly answering the call to protect and serve. As we reflect, let us carry forward the spirit of hope and solidarity that emerged from the darkness. The Heart of America: A Daughter's Reflection on D-Day's 80th Anniversary Today, as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the ceremony in Normandy serves as a powerful reminder of our national identity and the sacrifices made for our freedom. Watching President Joe Biden, representing every American, stand alongside the heroes of that fateful day, I am moved by the enduring spirit and unwavering patriotism that define America. Reflecting on my father, a proud US Navy veteran of World War II, I am reminded that true patriotism transcends political affiliations. His love for family and country and his unwavering dedication to service embody the American spirit of resilience and dedication. As we honor those who sacrificed everything for democracy, let us remember the values that unite us: honor and decency. Let us recommit to the principles that define our great nation and ensure that the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedoms were not in vain. In this hour of reflection, let us embrace America's true essence and uphold its legacy of courage, unity, and love of country. Let us reject those who attempt to divide us or use words like retribution to describe a future none of us would choose. Anything less would be a betrayal to those who stood the watch for us and to future generations. "The price of unchecked tyranny is the blood of the young and the brave. In their generation, in their hour of trial, the Allied forces of D-Day did their duty. Now the question for us is: In our hour of trial, will we do ours?" President Joe Biden (Normandy, June 6, 2024) #DDayAnniversary #NationalIdentity #Patriotism

Knowledge is power. Knowing history is powerful.
#OnThisDay in #history, 1989, the #BerlinWall fell. After #WW2, both #Germany and #Berlin was split into zones occupied by the democratic West and communist USSR. Thus, for nearly three decades, the Wall not only separated Germans—it stood as the physical manifestation of the Cold War.

I just finished reading “The H. L. Hunley: The Secret Hope of the Confederacy” and I loved it! On the surface this is a book about the first submarine to sink an enemy ship, but it is also a case study of technical naval innovation during war. The technical, cultural, material, bureaucratic, and financial challenges will be familiar to anyone involved in naval innovation or the current naval conflicts in the Black and Red Seas. Five out of five stars. https://lnkd.in/d_GCVw33
