West Penn Diesel, a dry van carrier based out of Pennsylvania. Before working with us, they had 28 trucks, six of which were sitting completely empty. They tried hiring from job boards, unemployment offices, TV commercials, newspaper ads, and almost everything else under the sun. All of these methods led to hiring and firing for almost 10 years before coming across Get Truck drivers.com after working with us for only 9 short months. They have grown to 36 trucks and have no issues keeping them seated with qualified truck drivers. In this video, I'm talking with Rick, who is the operations manager at West Penn Diesel to break down the switch that happened by working with us to go from 10 years of no growth whatsoever to adding ten trucks and a waiting list of drivers. There's a ton of good information in this interview, so stick around and let's get right into it. Rick, welcome to this. Quick interview with me and I appreciate you being here. Thanks for having me, I'm gonna appreciate too. Cool. So Rick, just so for everybody who's watching this, can you briefly describe about your business and what you do, your role in the company? Yeah, we are. Yeah. Yeah, Right now all you have to. I think 30 is like. About a year ago with. 23. If you had 28, we only had 2200. And we have to still pick. And we're on 33 of them pulled by the middle of June. We always be free. I'm really running, midwife sent off. Hmm. Hmm. Yeah, that's a long for that. And what kind of business just so for everybody understand like what kind of trucking company do you own? Like do you haul, drive-in, refer just for everybody else we're all driving. And 90. Late 90s. At their local tractor company. Some panic people. In 2001 we started buying it. And over the years we've converted away from all together. We were all guiding. No, no breakfast at all. I mean no, no, no, don't. Yeah, if you drive in, one drive in. OK. We have a lot of money like, you know, everybody. Got it. Got it. So can you share with me like where you were before meeting us and and also after working with us, I know you kind of touched that a little bit in terms of like I don't know revenue growth, amount of trucks drivers, however you want to share it? With people watching this. Only part of you again, just like everybody else right now my dad and go through with radio and television. Monster.com unemployment office everything you could think of. And we we we could think of everything. Obviously you have something different and. Family we aren't finding anything. Somebody that was worth 10 federal, I guess her name is, wasn't getting the right people. I tried doing on Facebook and you get a hit here in there like that guy, yeah. Yeah. You feel like if it was a waste of your time spinning your wheels and and was tossing around that somebody who applied and on their website it came across. Getfactory.com and I just wonder what that even was that I started poking around and that's when I called you and you were like, where in the heck did you come from? You know? And here we are now and we, as I said, we. He had 28. I'm 21 and 22 and couldn't get anybody to hire one food but do you want to quit it? Same time number and I couldn't get anybody in the door that was. You know, worth hiring and worth keeping. And how long, how long did you stay at like that? That place of like 212223 trucks running? Thank you. Well, how do we get to the 28? And yeah, you have that. We call it the spring for eight. Everybody in the spring would leave. We didn't like that. The first time I think in probably 9 or 10 years that we haven't had a whole bunch of guys who leaving his friend just because that's what happened. Wow. Ohh. We've heard in human evolution that come up on here and you remember time arrested with with you guys, they didn't go and you expect it didn't go as I planned. With the. And. One evening we couldn't get we need to get anybody realized again and was probably. September. Uh-huh. One and. We're getting out of that door and we started. We got all the factory had showed up. And then you know they would, you know, you go later and we have a waiting list. Actually. I know you all like to hear this, but like, I'm gonna say it again, I can't quit advertising, but I do and it's people coming in.
