“Loved this session…the involvement and room inclusion were great.” Spoke to two very engaged audiences yesterday with Ming Lianto. Businesses committed to putting shoppers at the heart of their decision-making. Here are five things account managers and category leads should aim for that I saw in these groups yesterday… #1️⃣ - make time to properly understand what your inputs are telling you. The return on your time investment will quickly become apparent. #2️⃣ - think like a shopper. Put your industry-speak and your TLAs (three-letter acronyms) to one side. Get a grip on what they think and feel about your category. #3️⃣ - get everyone in the room. Discussion is good…cross-functional discussion is better. #4️⃣ - interact. Sermons are old hat. Get your people talking, connecting, engaging. That’s when great ideas bubble up. #5️⃣ - have fun. Groceries and liquor are high-frequency purchases. If you can’t make it interesting when you talk about it, chances are it won’t be interesting when shoppers go to buy it. Follow for more ideas to help you nail your next retailer meeting... 💪
