Each year, WHD focuses on a theme, uniting partners to advocate for the survival, well-being, and dignity of those affected by crises, and the safety of aid workers. This year's theme, #ActForHumanity, confronts the normalization of attacks on civilians, including humanitarian workers, and the lack of impunity under International Humanitarian Law. Today we join the world in observing World Humanitarian Day 2024. Today, the world commemorates World Humanitarian Day.It's a solemn occasion as we reflect on the tragic loss of over 171 humanitarian workers in Nigeria during 2023, making it the deadliest year on record for these selfless individuals. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their families find strength during this difficult time. The 2024 World Humanitarian Day campaign, **#ActForHumanity**, focuses on the urgent need to address the escalating attacks against humanitarian workers and civilians. By advocating for the strict enforcement of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), we aim to end the impunity for these heinous crimes.

In the lead up to #WorldHumanitarianDay, we honor the 456 aid workers who lost their lives in service to others in 2023 and 2024. These tragic losses underscore the urgent need to protect humanitarian workers and uphold International Humanitarian Law. Project HOPE calls on world leaders to investigate and prosecute violations, ensuring accountability for attacks on aid workers and civilians. As crises multiply globally, we must safeguard those who risk everything to help communities in need. RIP AI precision on clearly marked vehicles? Stop all violence! Stop killing innocent humanitarians! Israel could actually "easily" follow the gist of the UNSC and the ICJ decisions by creating a humanitarian solution which nevertheless includes achieving its military goal of fully dismantling Hamas! If Israel opens its borders and create Blue Helmets/UN peace force controlled, UNHCR managed, refugee facilities in Israel, it could dismantle all military infrastructure in Gaza without causing any further civilian collateral damage. At the same time would the (disarmed) Gazans have a stable very safe zone to go to with a high likelihood to be able to return home if Gaza becomes inhabitable again (currently it is no longer). Ceasefire and de-escalation 2. Humanitarian access and aid delivery 3. Inclusive dialogue and negotiation 4. International support and monitoring 5. Justice and accountability 6. Reconstruction and recovery 7. Demining and explosive hazard removal 8. Psychosocial support and trauma rehabilitation 9. Environmental rehabilitation and sustainable development 10. Disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration 11. Regional cooperation and confidence-building 12. Transitional security arrangements 13. Diaspora engagement and repatriation 14. Indigenous/local knowledge and participation 15. Capacity building and skills training This plan requires international cooperation, flexibility, and a commitment to peace, justice, and humanitarian principles.
