Hello #exerciseoncology community and supporters across the globe! Sharing an upcoming opportunity in Boston next month for the FIRST official Planning Meeting for International Society of Exercise Oncology - live in BOSTON My long-time colleague Kathryn Schmitz is leading these efforts and while she has already made tremendous progress in Exercise Oncology, spearheading research, implementation, program development, and best practices - This work is merely a small part of the bigger picture, and it requires larger collaborations to achieve the desired outcome." She is developing an International Society for professionals interested in this initiative. Please share with team members who are working on its advancement. This opportunity is only available in person. Hello – You are among the community of scientists and practitioners who have, no doubt, noticed that there is no centralized meeting for exercise oncology. We can find 5-10 hours of exercise oncology content at ACSM, ASCO, ASPO, AACR, SIO, MASCC, ISBNPA, etc, but there is no central hub for this growing community. If we wanted to create such a community, with its own meeting, what would you want it to look like? Should we focus on exercise? Lifestyle more generally? Should we include nutrition? How much of the focus of this new organization should be on practice? Research? Implementation? Basic Science? Advocacy? These are questions I’m hoping are of enough interest to you that you will spend a day considering these questions on May 28th 7:30-2 pm, at the convention center in Boston, as a preconference to the annual ACSM meeting. The draft agenda for the meeting is attached. To register, please go to www.acsm.org Click on ‘2024 Annual Meeting Registration Now Open’ Click on ‘Register Now’ Create a new account (unless you have one) Register as a nonmember professional (assuming you are not a member of ACSM) Answer a few questions Click on supplements/extras and choose ‘PRECON: Planning meeting for ISEO’ Please let me know if you have any difficulty with these instructions. We really need your voice there May 28th. Best regards Katie
