Client - "We keep losing great candidates in the middle our process" Recruiter - "And what is your process?" Client - "It's 6 stages in total including a presentation, psychometric test and normally takes around 6 weeks" A conversation I recently had a Sales Leader looking for AE's 🤔💭 I completely get businesses want to be thorough when BUT... 6 stages over 6 weeks = Poor candidate experience!!!❌❌ Candidates actively searching will have multiple options at the same time. The time, effort and energy that goes in will be completely draining 🙈 Businesses even though you might have a great team & product, candidates aren't going to wait 6 weeks when others are doing it in 2-3!! If you want to avoid this: - Make yourself available sooner to keep momentum 📅 - Combine stages to shorten the process 📈 - Show candidates this is a priority and so are they in the process ✅ Candidates want to work with a businesses that value their time & can get things done!! 3x simple changes that could make all the difference!🙌💥

Do you know what I love? Permanent B2B marketing recruitment. As a result, I work with some seriously good candidates who have short stints on their CVs. The best hiring managers I work with will always ask me to explain the background to these shorts stints. What makes them a great hiring manager? They listen to the explanation and don't use it as a reason not to interview the candidate! What are some examples that candidates can give? 1. They now want me in 4 days when it was 2 originally. 2. The role is different to the one I was hired to do. 3. The culture doesn't align with my values 4. I was made redundant/might be made redundant 5. I had to care for a sick family member Ultimately, any reason should be considered and not held against candidates. On the flip side, if there is an obvious pattern with many short stints (that aren't contracts) I let my candidates know that they should ask some deeper questions at interview about the companies culture and way of working, before they commit to joining. #recruitment #marketingrecuitment
