Welcome to our latest release - hip angle measurements! Hip dysplasia seriously affects the affected individuals’ quality of life, and the cost of treatment is a tremendous strain on the resources of any healthcare system. A single hip replacement costs $US 80,000. As many as one in ten adults demonstrate signs of hip dyspasia. As populations age globally, one could consider this a burgeoning global health crisis. https://lnkd.in/gbyBwzwZ

What an excellent Osteoporosis Awareness article - demonstrating that this is not just an 'older ladies' condition. There's a wealth of useful content in here, but I draw your attention to the recommendation to take the Royal Osteoporosis Society Risk checker (link in comments). As a Peri-2-Post-Menopause Health, Fitness Life Coach who favours Whole Body Vibration (aka Power Plate) for Personal Training clients due to it's time, energy and results benefits, can I draw your attention to this form of (I call it 'cheats') exercise. It can be beneficial to those who struggle to find time to do weight-bearing and resistance training for mucle and bone health but know they need to be doing it. (Link to info in comments).

For women with heart failure, misdiagnosis can have dangerous consequences – delaying access to life-saving care and exposing deeper biases within our medical systems. Overcoming this knowledge gap is crucial. #AbbottProud for the opportunity to highlight a critical need for both patients and healthcare providers to improve awareness and advocacy around equitable diagnostic practices and greater understanding of the nuances of heart disease in women. This #HeartMonth, I hope you’ll join me by learning more about the sex-specific symptoms of heart failure and what we can all do to ensure more women have access to the life-saving therapies they deserve: https://lnkd.in/gMDYjdMz #WomensHealth #HeartFailure #HealthEquity

Long COVID remains elusive. For most, there are NO treatments to ameliorate or mitigate its byproduct: multisystem organ dysfunction, brain shrinkage, vagus nerve inflammation, autonomic dysfunction, dysautonomia, POTS, anosmia, optic nerve damage, lung damage, myocarditis, stroke...and roughly another 190+ reported symptoms. Mild cases of acute COVID faired less than those hospitalized with acute cases insofar as recovery. We aim to help long haulers who are in desperate need of a 'cure' and developed a cross-over study so that ALL participants - even those in the placebo group - could be treated. Our clinical trial: https://lnkd.in/gifdvKqh #longcovidawareness, #longcovidrecovery, #longcovid, #longcovidcare, #longcovid,

The post narrates a personal experience with health crises, emphasizing the importance of proactive healthcare and overcoming cultural stigmas. It begins with the story of how my father was experiencing abdominal pain, leading to the discovery and successful treatment of a tumor in his large intestine. This incident underlines the consequences of avoiding preventive screenings due to cultural stigmas, as my father's tumor was linked to neglected colon cancer screenings. I also share my own proactive step in getting a colonoscopy, discovering a polyp early. I then discuss my embarrassing but necessary experience in treating a urinary tract infection and epididymitis, highlighting the importance of overcoming shame and embarrassment in seeking medical help. The post concludes by advocating for openness and honesty with healthcare providers, regular check-ins, and the utilization of preventive care to avoid severe health issues, promoting a message that understanding and addressing health concerns without shame can lead to better health outcomes and longevity.
