When I saw this sign ... I had to pull over! I couldn't stop thinking about the path AFTER the sidewalk's end. Earlier this summer marked the anniversary of the end of one chapter and the beginning of an exciting new one. I'm celebrating the anniversary of my last day at my previous museum, where I spent an amazing 11 years, and the first month of owning my own business! It's been a ride, and I'd do it all over again. As I stand here just steps beyond where the sidewalk ends(literally AND metaphorically), I'm reminded that life's transitions aren't endings, but gateways to new opportunities. We often fear the unknown that lies beyond our comfort zones, but it's in these uncharted territories where we find growth, innovation, and our true potential. It's where we get to lean into our strengths to be our true and authentic selves... ... and not care if we post a professional photo with jeans👖, a tank top, and a 🧢 because... when inspiration strikes, you grab it! 🤣 Whether it's a career shift, a new project, or a personal transformation, embracing change opens doors we never knew existed. Sometimes, it’s important to take a moment and reflect on the journey that brought us to where we are today. I landed in Australia over 15 years ago, settling into my first rental home in Pascoe Vale South. It was a humble start, with plenty of challenges—heating that didn’t work in the winter and air conditioning that struggled in the summer. But it taught me resilience and appreciation for the small comforts in life. From there, my career has been a path of growth and learning. I’ve worked across different roles in engineering, logistics, and leadership, gaining valuable insights along the way. Each experience taught me something new, not only about the work but also about people and the importance of creating impact. This journey led me to my current project, ItsReal.com.au, a platform born from personal experience. Reflecting on my early days in Australia, I realized how valuable it would have been to share and learn from others’ rental experiences. That idea grew into a mission to bring transparency to the real estate market, empowering renters, owners, and buyers alike. As I continue this journey, I’m grateful for every challenge, opportunity, and connection that has shaped me. Here’s to learning, growing, and making a difference—one step at a time. As I prep to lead (12) participants on [bon]fire’s next “[good]men. | works.in.progress.” hike & immersive dialogue experience on Aug. 17th, I’m also getting ready to join a small group that will hike out to the most remote wilderness spot found in the 48 contiguous States,… …deep in grizzly bear country. On one level, this is about selecting gear: - the right 60L pack - the right mummy bag - the right post-hike shoes - the right water filtration device - the right wicking material & layers - the right anti-bear spray | anti-bear containers It’s about careful preparation. But even more, it’s about choosing to put myself in situations way outside my comfort zone (grizzly bears, oh my!)… …and stepping into the new participant mindset when joining transformative experiences and retreats (that I design + lead). It’s about empathy, curiosity and not-knowing. (and staying one good step ahead of the grizzly)

Swapped the streets of Amsterdam for the streets of New York City and Hoboken! 🚲🏙️ It’s been over two weeks since my relocation to the SKIM Hoboken office and my move to the Big Apple and I can already say that the experience has been nothing short of wonderful. A couple of the things I’ve learned so far: ✔ The ‘biking culture’ in New York City is a bit… different. Dodging taxis and delivery trucks is a whole new level of adrenaline rush compared to the serene canal rides back home. ✔Sirens are the new soundtrack of my life. ✔The wildlife consists of pigeons with an attitude and squirrels with a death wish. ✔It’s totally OK to have a “Is this the line for the bus or the bakery?” moment. ✔Bagels are like a religion. Forget about discussing politics or religion; here, it’s all about whether you prefer yours toasted or untoasted. ✔It is truly amazing to see how the SKIM values and vibes run deep and are present in every aspect of our work culture, no matter where we are in the world. ✔I was already working with some of the brightest minds around. Now, in the U.S., I’m fortunate to continue this trend, working alongside brilliant colleagues who are helping me navigate new industries beyond healthcare. As I settle into my new role and surroundings, I look forward to growing this list and diving deep into managing projects for leading tech giants. 📈🌐 I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the warm welcome I’ve received from my new colleagues.
