Teaching Pancasila Values through Astabratha in IP Lokapala Today, on June 1st, we celebrate Pancasila Day, a moment to reflect on the noble values that form the foundation of our nation. In this fast-paced digital era, how can we instill Pancasila values in the younger generation? One creative approach is through the media they love, such as games. Currently, Pancasila education is often seen as monotonous and less relevant by the younger generation. The lack of creative approaches makes it difficult for Pancasila values to be absorbed and applied in daily life. However, these values can actually be found in various elements of popular culture, including the world of gaming. One example is IP Lokapala, a game that not only offers entertainment but also conveys stories of warriors reflecting the leadership values of Astabratha. The Astabratha tale teaches us eight noble leadership traits that align with Pancasila principles. Leaders should be just and able to provide welfare for all, flexible and adaptable to changes, brave and decisive in making decisions, and firm in upholding law and justice. Additionally, leaders should bring tranquility and peace to their people, wisely manage the nation’s wealth, be broad-minded and able to face various challenges, and provide enlightenment and inspiration to others. Games like Lokapala are not just for entertainment but can also be effective educational tools. Through this game, the younger generation can learn and internalize the noble values of our nation in a fun and relevant way. They can recognize and embrace Pancasila principles through engaging characters and stories. For instance, the characters in Lokapala, inspired by the Astabratha tale, can demonstrate how these leadership traits are applied in different situations. This offers real examples that the younger generation can emulate in their daily lives. With this approach, we hope the younger generation can more easily accept and practice Pancasila values. They will develop traits of wise leaders, as taught by the Astabratha tale in IP Lokapala. Let us work together to create a generation of leaders who are not only intellectually smart but also possess strong character based on Pancasila values. Happy Pancasila Day! Let’s reaffirm our commitment to teaching and practicing the noble values of our nation to the younger generation in creative and relevant ways. #PancasilaDay #Pancasila #Astabratha #Leadership #YoungerGeneration #Education #Lokapala #GameBasedLearning #majubersamaLokapala

#AbhyudayaKatha: Explore the heartfelt stories of mentor-mentee bonding as SPJIMR PGDM student Prigyansha Choubey ventures into the home of her Abhyudaya Sitara Mentee, sharing tales of their mutual growth, learning, and connections. "Mentoring the Abhyudaya Sitara has been an emotional journey. She calls me 'Didi', and that gives me a sense of mentoring my own sister. Despite her humble background, she aspires to start a baking business, and I'm committed to helping her achieve it. As Helen Keller once said, "Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much." The day I met her, I realised I have so much to learn from her - the will to excel, explore and do good in life. She aspires to go to South Korea one day and do her higher studies. She wants to explore the area of public speaking and work on it, and I want to help her develop the same. I believe in her potential and envision her as a confident individual who realises her dreams and becomes an inspiration to others. As a mentor, I plan not just to limit myself to the world of science and mathematics but also be her “saarthi” in nurturing dreams and futures. It's a privilege to be part of her journey, and I want to contribute effectively to her dream of making her 'One-Room House' into a 'House of Dreams'. For me, mentoring is a journey of mutual learning. I'm not just shaping my Sitara's future; she is shaping mine too. Abhyudaya-SPJIMR is a transformative experiential learning course where PGDM participants mentor underprivileged school children called Sitara, contributing to UN #SDG4 of Quality Education.

A VISIT AT NANGO YESU AKWAGALA PRIMARY SCHOOL The visit to Nango Yesu Akwagala Primary school was a journey that led me to a group of very many #visionary and determined people with great life #goals. The engagement was centered around ; 1.Having clear life goals as learners 2. Having intentional circles around us 3.Overcoming distractions and fear when pursuing life goals. Learners at Nango Yesu Akwagala Primary School in Mayuge District got to know more on the need to having goals that we operate on as people to attain bigger #lifegoals. The pupils learnt that daily short goals and long term goals don't only train us to be #organised people but also #focused in all we do. The learners also learnt the need of having #intentionalcircles and people around them which comes from the classroom to outside communities. The young #leaders got to know that inorder to be outstanding and #purposeful #leaders in the world in any field then there's great need to surround ourselves with likely #minded people who will on a daily basis push us to aim higher and not settle for confortable zones. As we had the session, we got to know that most of these young learners have #fear to pursue their goals just like any other visionary person out there. In Our last session we saw some of the different ways of how to over come fear and #distractions as we chase our goals and it was through; ▪️Believing that we are the right candidates for what we want to be. ▪️Believing that if others did make it then learners can also make it. ▪️Understanding that fear will always comes but how we respond to it matters alot when it comes to attaining goals in life . The session was an amazing one as over #160learners gave feedback about their take homes and it was worth the talk to them, learners learnt how to embraced #challenges differently as part of the things we find on the way to #meeting our goals and it's those challenges that #sharpen us to be more fit for the things we work to #achieve in life. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥. My English tutor said that to me when I was 9. A decade later, I proved her wrong. Really wrong. 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧: I was born and raised In Malaysia and I came to Singapore with my elder brother when I was 9, to seek better education opportunities. We travelled between two countries everyday for 6 years. English was one of the biggest challenges we faced, because most of the things taught In my previous school were in Mandarin and Malay. We found it hard to fit into a new country. Life was tough, and we faced many obstacles along the way. But I can never forget what this tuition teacher said to me. I was late for tuition that day, because I was stuck in the border while travelling to Singapore. My parents paid a large sum of money to enrol the two of us into that center. I opened the door and apologised for being late. Instead of being understanding, the most outrageous and xenophobic words came out from her mouth, “You will never be successful” is a version toned down 10 times. I clenched my tiny fists and my eyes watered. Finished the assignment and left. I knew I was going to prove her wrong. We worked hard, 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝. Eventually I topped my class for PSLE and we were both enrolled into the IP program. We turned our lives around in 3 years under the most difficult situation. I went on to represent my class to deliver a graduation speech, in front of hundreds of people. Public speaking was nothing compared to other hardships we endured, I delivered my speech confidently. 12 year old Kelvin once said “𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐚𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡” I’ve lived up to those words and now I’m inspiring the next generation to do the same at Young Leaders Collective. I hope that little kid is proud of who he turned out to be. The flame I carry within me can never be extinguished. The Intersection of Empowerment and Educational Excellence: A Real-World Example We often share theories, thoughts, and ideas on this platform, but there's something uniquely gratifying about seeing lived experience align with what we advocate. It fills us with hope, gratitude, and pride when individuals take action to align their professional development with the broader mission of creating safe and nurturing educational environments. Today, I'd like to introduce you to Tebatso Mogale, Director of Operations at the American International School of Johannesburg. Tebatso's recent accomplishment—a certification in Educational Facilities through our partnership with APPA - Leadership in Educational Facilities - demonstrates the remarkable outcomes that individuals can achieve through their own initiative. It also hints at the untapped potential that could be realized if organizations were to actively drive such empowerment at every level. Tebatso, a chemical engineer with a Master's in Environment & Development, joined AISJ in 2018. Her journey exemplifies how individual #aspirations can align with organizational goals to create something greater than the sum of its parts. I invite you to watch Tebatso's testimonial video. It's a heartfelt, unedited narrative that emerged from her own journey, capturing the essence of what can happen when one is inspired to not just achieve but also #empower others. It offers a nuanced look into the #professional #pathways that can open up when we foster a #culture of #empowerment and continuous #learning. As we reflect on the power of empowerment, let's also consider the broader ecosystem. Empowerment isn't just a managerial strategy; it's a cultural ethos that can drive remarkable outcomes.
