We saw that on the debate stage when he set a record. He lied about the economy, about his role in the January 6 insurrection, and about disrespecting our heroic servicemembers. “Donald Trump is lying again now. He’s trying to hide his connections to his allies’ extreme Project 2025 agenda. The only problem? It was written for him, by those closest to him. Project 2025 should scare every single American. It would give Trump limitless power over our daily lives and let him use the presidency to enact ‘revenge’ on his enemies, ban abortion nationwide and punish women who have an abortion, and gut the checks and balances that make America the greatest democracy in the world. It’s extreme and dangerous. “Trump’s conservative Supreme Court has already given him a blank check to do virtually whatever he wants with no regard for the rule of law. If he wins, there is no question Trump will use it to pass his Project 2025 agenda. Together, we must defeat him.” ###

Political power, support for violence, and anti-Blackness have a long and well-documented correlative history in this country. Despite not being the largest or fastest growing minority group in this country, fear of Black people gaining more power is paramount. That sentiment has likely been driving the anti-diversity language, laws and behaviors so prevalent today. Office of the Provost: Afro-Descendant Institute of Human Rights and Facilitator of the Afro-descendant Confederation I surely appreciated the advanced understanding of Chairman Omar Yeshelita and the confusion that exists among the “Black left”. I fully support the twin goals of “Self-determination and Reparation. The Black left must denounce and lodge a “No Confidence Vote” in the upcoming election in order to clarify “our platform” which is markedly different from the “Negro left” and the “Negro Right” who blindly supports either the Democratic or Republican Parties without an agenda item on their mutual platforms. I delighted in the distinction that was made between the “welfare state” and a “state of our own”, which is what self-determination means. We have no place in the “Two-Party” system and should be flocking to the courts to defend Chairmen Yeshelita but more importantly we must understand and forge the new Afro-descendant Confederation that promotes the twin goals of Self-determination and Reparations as our PLATFORM. We must build a “Confederation” based on our mutual interest to do less furthers the hypocrisy of our being an American citizen. It was our foremost intellectual that said there was no such thing as “second class citizenship” Malcolm X. I don’t mean to be Negative Nancy, but someone has to say it. The blog I wrote reflects a critical perspective on contemporary American society and politics, framed through the principles of the Declaration of Independence. It suggests that the foundational ideals of equality, government by consent, the right to alter or abolish government, natural rights, and the indictment of tyranny are being undermined or forgotten. There, I express my disappointment in how these principles are currently interpreted and applied, particularly criticizing the influence of wealth in politics, recent Supreme Court decisions, and the behavior and policies of Donald Trump (referred to as "Orange Man"). The piece argues that modern America has strayed from its foundational values, emphasizing the importance of intellectual honesty and civic responsibilities in shaping the future of the country. @followers @highlight I’ll also plug my novel, #thelastindependenceday. If there was ever a time to read it to get one version of unchecked extremism, this would be it.

On this day, that celebrates our country's independence, let's also keep in mind- that we are fighting for our own independence in November. Project 2025, creates a King, instead of a President, turning this county into an autocracy. History repeats itself. And autocratic movements are international. The fight for our freedoms, began with Dobbs, which removed full citizenship from women. If Trump wins, many, many others will also lose their rights to be full citizens. Ignore the poll-polling data is some of the worst data in existence. The sole thing we ALL must do, is get people registered, and to the polls. Young people have indicated in good research, that they are tired of it all, and may not vote-yet their vote was a big part of Biden's victory. We need to energize young people, and ourselves. We are all, already wounded warriors, like the song says. But we get up, even with our wounds, and we fight like hell. At this point-it is ALL about who and how many- come out to vote. That's what it's come down to. Volunteer! I'll be driving people to the polls all day. Call the League of Women Voters, wherever you live, and ask them what you can do to help. It's astounding-but we have to fight even harder this time. But it's a must. Project 2025 is the end of our democracy. Debates aren't important-most people don't watch them. Biden's mental fitness is just fine-don't pay any attention to that crap. Think about how hard it might be to debate a man who simply lies and lies and lies. That isn't a debate. Please- do MORE this time. A lot can be done from home. Making calls, for example, to registered voters in your district, asking if people have a plan to vote. Call your House Reps and Senators. Tell them to fight like hell, and ask if there's anything you can do to help them win. I've had the Congressional Switchboard as a contact on my phone for years. Calls DO make a difference. SCI vigorously joins the conservative coalition in opposition to expanding #SelectiveService registration to include women. This would be a historic and strategic policy change ignoring the biological differences between females and males that will affect America's national defense. Women who voluntarily join the #ArmedForces are admirable and patriotic and we salute with the highest regard; however, forcing all women to register does not award the equality stamp. #EqualRights does not imply equal physicality. As we observe Juneteenth, the AAMC recognizes the significance of this day in American history and the importance of reflecting on our collective journey toward equality. June 19 marks the true end of slavery in the United States, a crucial moment when Major General Gordon Granger and Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. Yet, nearly 160 years later, we continue to strive for the fundamental promise of ‘liberty and justice for all.’ Systemic change requires more than new rules; it demands personal accountability, education, courage, and the willingness to engage in difficult conversations. We must unlearn long-held societal norms and confront the ways historical injustices shape today's inequalities. As Frederick Douglass wisely noted, “The life of the nation is secure only while the nation is honest, truthful, and virtuous.” Let us seize this moment to commit to creating a future where equity and justice are realities for all. #Juneteenth #Equity #AcademicMedicine #SocialJustice
