If you're new to mindfulness, try this simple exercise: Mindful Breathing. Find a Quiet Space: Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Focus on Your Breath: Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose, feeling your lungs expand. Exhale Slowly: Breathe out through your mouth, noticing the sensation of the air leaving your body. Count Your Breaths: Inhale for a count of four, hold for a count of four, and exhale for a count of four. Repeat this cycle for a few minutes. Stay Present: If your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to your breath. Practicing this for just 5 minutes a day can help you develop mindfulness and reduce stress. #Mindfulness #StressManagement #traumainformedcare Looking to prioritize your wellbeing but not sure where to start? I think, I should let you know about Mindfulness practices. Don't you think so? . . . These practices are techniques that help us stay present and fully engage with the current moment. These practices help us cultivate awareness, reduce stress, and improve overall mental well-being. Just incase you don't think it's that important. ∇ By focusing on the present rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, mindfulness encourages a calmer, more balanced state of mind; which is key for productivity and healthy living. I'll highlight three; >> Breath Awareness: Focus on your breathing, paying attention to each inhale and exhale. This simple practice helps center the mind and reduce distractions, making it easier to stay grounded. >> Body Scan: This involves mentally scanning the body from head to toe, noticing sensations, tension, or discomfort without judgment. It promotes relaxation and a deeper connection between mind and body. >> Mindful Walking: While walking, focus on the movement of your feet, the sensation of the ground beneath you, and your surroundings. This turns a simple walk into a meditative experience, enhancing presence and clarity. Have you tried any of these before? Or, are you just knowing about it today? #Selfawareness #WritingCommunity #BetterTogether2024 #emojiwhrites #mindfulness

One Simple Idea to Seamlessly Incorporate Mindfulness into Your Day 🌿✨ We've all heard about the benefits of mindfulness, but finding time to practice it can be challenging in our busy lives. Incorporating mindful breaks at work isn't about overhauling your entire routine; it's about small, meaningful changes that enhance your overall well-being. One of my favourites is writing the word "Breathe" and placing it where I can see it—on a discreet sticky note, on your phone wallpaper, or in a framed photo of a favourite relaxing location. This simple reminder helps me take a deep breath and clear my mind before answering a call or starting a new task. It resets my brain and helps me approach conversations or tasks with better focus, resulting in improved productivity. Plus, it only takes a few seconds, making it easy to integrate into your day. Give it a try. You have to breathe, so why not use it to add mini-mindful breaks to your day? 🌿✨ #Mindfulness #WorkLifeBalance #Wellbeing #MentalHealth #Productivity #MindfulWork #SelfCare #Focus #MindfulBreaks #Breathe #WorkplaceWellness

Monday Mindfulness Tip: There is the misconception that after we practice mindfulness we should feel a certain way. While we can often feel calmer and incline both the body and mind in the direction of greater ease, mindfulness practice is not about forcing ourselves to achieve a particular outcome. The practice is more about deepening our moment to moment AWARENESS. Overtime, with a regular practice, we can increasingly recognize some of our habits that no longer serve us and identify how we get in our own way. This is what not only allows us to respond in more conscious ways, but what can also really help us to achieve greater overall wellbeing. Stay tuned for more of my conversation with Annie Leib Calvert, MBA, CPC, GGA on some of the common misconceptions about mindfulness and the ways in which we can promote more balance, calm and joy in our lives. #ConsciousCornerPodcast #mindfulmonday #presentmomentawareness #mindfulnessmisconceptions #clarity

I once dismissed mindfulness as a fad. But then I understood the crux of it. Its awareness. You don't need to sit quietly for hours. All you need to do is be fully present — fully aware of what you are doing at that moment. It's easy to dismiss it as just another wellness trend. But trust me — immerse yourself entirely in anything you do and see its impact on your work efficiency and creativity. You don't need hours, just awareness. #mindfulness #productivity

How Practicing Mindfulness Can Improve Your Physical Health Mindfulness isn’t just a trendy buzzword—it has real benefits for your physical health. Practicing mindfulness can lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, and improve sleep. When you’re more mindful, you’re less likely to stress about things outside your control, which keeps cortisol levels down and your immune system strong. You don’t have to meditate for hours to reap the benefits. Start small by incorporating mindful moments into your day—whether it’s focusing on your breath for a few minutes or paying attention to the taste of your morning coffee. Over time, you’ll notice not just a calmer mind but a healthier body too. #mindfulness #physicalhealth #stressrelief #wellness #mindfulmoments #meditation #healthyliving #mindbodyconnection
