Startup Tip of The Week: Set your boundaries There will always be more work, and it will fill 100 hours per week if you let it. That's not good for you or the company. Figure out your priorities outside of work, in collaboration with the key stakeholders in your life (partner, kids, etc). This means setting specific goals. For example, instead of ‘spend one-on-one time with my partner,’ agree to have dinner together at least five nights a week,” Things will come up, it won't be perfect, but hold your boundaries as much as possible, and renegotiate with your life and work stakeholders if you find you're consistently unable to hold your boundaries. If something new comes up, does something else have to slip or get reassigned? Own that discussion and have it upfront. Do not just let things slip without communicating that. Own setting and communicating realistic timelines and priorities. #conceptdevelopment #uganda #worklifebalance #WorkFromHome #remoteworking

When planning your week, you should know your 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿. When I say 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿, I mean your four hours of deep work. Anders Ericsson, a psychologist, found through his research that we only have four hours per day of "deep work" ability. Deep work is your ability to fully concentrate on a cognitively demanding task(s) without distraction. This means that when planning out your week, aim to: • Pinpoint the four hours you work best in per day • Minimise the amount of meetings you schedule in those hours • Build your highest leverage tasks into these windows of time For me, my best hours are in the morning. Usually from 7:30am to 11:30am. Therefore I try to avoid meetings, I put my phone away, and tick off the majority of my tasks in this window. You may work best in the late afternoon. In which case I'd suggest holding your meetings in the morning. Then, you can work in peace in the afternoon and be highly effective. Review your days and work out your most productive four hours. Then, aim to construct your week around these hours as best you can. Try it for 2 months and see the difference, you'll be surprised! I know I have been. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁: It's not about four hours of SOLID focus, because that can be hard to achieve. It's understanding when you're most productive and completing your highest leverage tasks during this window, without distraction. #virtualassistant #timemanagement #deepwork #startupfounder #productivity ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, I'm Josh! The Surprising Truth About Hustle Culture: Why Working Harder Isn't Always Smarter We are often told that hard work and long hours are the keys to success. But what if I tell you that this approach is not only unsustainable but also misguided? What if working smarter, not harder, was the secret to achieving your goals without burning out? The Problem with Hustle Culture: Hustle culture glorifies hard work and sacrifice, but it ignores the importance of strategy, efficiency, and self-care. When we prioritize hard work over smart work, we risk: 💙 Burnout and exhaustion 💙 Decreased productivity and creativity 💙 Poor work-life balance 💙 Neglecting our physical and mental health The Power of Working Smart: Working smart means using your time, energy, and resources efficiently to achieve your goals. It involves: 💙 Setting clear priorities and focusing on high-impact tasks 💙 Leveraging technology and automation to streamline processes 💙 Building a support network and delegating tasks when possible 💙 Prioritizing self-care and wellness Next time, work smart by: 1. Batching similar tasks: to optimize your time and energy. 2. Use productivity tools: like calendars, to-do lists, and project management software. 3. Learn to say no: to non-essential tasks and commitments. 4. Take breaks: to recharge and avoid burnout. Hustle culture may be trendy, but working smart is the key to sustainable success. Which one do you go for, working hard or working smart? #Virtualassistant #Timemanagement

Are You Truly Hustling or Just Masking Busywork as Productivity? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gbVtkddS #Productivity #Hustle #TimeManagement #WorkSmart #StopBusyWork Hey there! Let’s dive into a question that we all need to ponder: Are you genuinely hustling, or just keeping busy with a bunch of tasks that make you feel productive? 🤔 Here’s a little truth bomb: being busy doesn’t mean you’re being effective. It’s super easy to get swept up in the daily grind—crossing things off your to-do list and feeling like you’re on fire. But here’s the kicker: are you really making progress, or just running in place? Let’s face it—most of us are spending time on stuff that doesn’t actually matter. Consider this: ✨ Are you knocking out low-priority tasks just to dodge the bigger, scarier ones? 📱 Are you glued to productivity apps or tools that promise the world but just end up consuming your time? 🙋♂️ Are you saying yes to every meeting or request, thinking it’ll boost your image, when it’s actually holding you back? This hustle culture can be pretty misleading. We’ve been told that constant busyness translates to success, but that’s not the whole pic...

Enough is enough! Effective time management is what you need. These #techniques help our team work smarter, not harder. Give them a try and see the difference for yourself: 🎯 Set SMART Goals & Prioritize. Get everyone on the same page with clear, achievable goals using the SMART method (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound). Then, be ruthless! Not everything is critical. Focus on the tasks that make the biggest difference. ️ ⏱ Time Blocking is Your Friend. Schedule dedicated blocks for focused #work on important tasks. This will help you minimize distractions and ensure you make progress on the things that matter most. 👩💻 Sharpen Your Focus. Try methods like the Pomodoro Technique (25-minute work sprints with short breaks) to stay focused and avoid burnout. 🗨 Communication is Key. Regular team check-ins, shared calendars, and project #management tools keep everyone in the loop and prevent duplicated efforts. 🤝 Delegate & Outsource. Don't try to be a one-person army! Let your team do their best and outsource the rest! Need extra muscle for a specific project? Consider #outsourcing to BandaPixels to fill skill gaps. 🏖 Recharge & Refuel. Curating immersive experiences for ambitious women who are ready to break free from the relentless hustle and reconnect with the joy of living 🔥 DARE TO BE WILD 🔥
How many times have you found yourself knee-deep in tasks, running around like a headless chicken, only to collapse into bed at night wondering what the heck you actually accomplished? There’s actually a word for this - SPUDDLING. Here’s the painful truth: being busy doesn't always translate to productivity. I'll admit it—I used to wear my busyness like a badge of honor. Meetings, emails, errands, you name it—I was all over the place, feeling like a productivity powerhouse. But guess what? I wasn't really getting anywhere. Sure, I was busy, but was I making any meaningful progress? Not so much. Being busy is all about doing stuff, filling every moment with some form of activity regardless if it translates to productivity. Productivity is about doing the To Do’s that move the needle, the things that bring you closer to your goals. It's not about cramming your schedule with tasks; it's about prioritizing like the CEO of your day and focusing on what truly matters. The side effect of working smarter, not harder is that I can get more done in less time allowing me time for rest and play. Having time for rest and play removes me from the hustle culture resulting in improved productivity. The ultimate Win-Win outcome. So, here's to working smarter, not harder. Here's to saying no to what doesn't matter and hell yeah to what does. And here's to finding that sweet spot where busyness meets productivity and magic happens. Intrigued with how rest and play promote productivity, join me this Friday, April 19th at The Village at 2:45 pm for my workshop ~ Dismantling Hustle Culture: Embracing Rest and Play as Productivity Tools. MINDFULLY MOVING ON 💫 Pivoting and switching from 9-5 career to build an entrepreneurship journey and embracing a #remotework culture, requires more than having a vivid vision and supportive community. Staying #discipline is THE portal of transformation as it will bring our positive mindset into focused actions. This little carry-on navy leather daily journal had been keeping me to remain mindful in moving the needle daily: →PLAN ahead ↳ to ensure all tasks are mindfully paid attention to, placing meaning and intention to the things that we love. This helps me to serve my clients while continuing being present in online platforms. →TIME ZONE alert ↳ to keep our productivities at it best. #remotework does not necessarily mean we need to standby for work 24 hours daily 🙆♀️ →set BOUNDARIES ↳ a 15-min break after each of 25-min deep focused work ↳ tun on “Work” or “Airplane” mode notification while work ↳ eat on time, stretch out and take multi-vitamins are some ways to install the embodiment of mindfulness into practice: internal works for external outputs. At the end of the day, we will fondly remember that time when we see our tasks through to the end sans distractions. PS: Anyone still use a hand-writing daily journal agenda? 🙋♀️ ♻️ Repost this to inspire others and follow me for more. #innerstrengths #productivity #remotework
