To build a killer construction business, focus on these five things. Number one, develop your strategy, right client, right job, right location, and discipline yourself to only take jobs that fall into that window #2 Disciplined hiring. Define clear roles and responsibilities and then don't trust your gut. When hiring, make sure that you get the right people in the right seats. #3 clear, consistent leadership. That involves accountability to drive performance. Number four, data-driven decision making. Get good numbers and allow those numbers to derive the decisions you need to make. And then #5 over communicate with all parties involved, particularly your employees. It's kind of like talking to your kids. They never get it the first time. Focus on those five things and you will succeed.
