The fashion industry stands as one of the greatest contributors to environmental pollution, in fact less than 1 percent of fashion textiles are recycled, leading to a continuous stream of products ending up in landfills or being incinerated every second worldwide. Central to our ethos is building circularity into our business model. How? Our focus has been on designing fashion pieces that outlive seasons and trends, timeless essentials that you reach for time and again for years to come. Through our innovative manufacturing technology, Technical Knitting, we utilize yarn efficiently and significantly reduce our pre-consumer textile waste from an average of 15% to less than 1%. Embracing a circular economy is not just a choice but a necessity. Through our Collective Continuum initiative, all our garments are designed with recyclability in mind, ensuring they can be recycled through our partnership with SuperCircle. To support more responsible recycling of garments as a whole, we'll also cover the cost of recycling for non &OR pieces. Source: The Business of Fashion #fashionindustry #sustainability #textilewaste

🌿 5 Steps Toward Sustainable Fashion 🌿 The fashion industry is making strides to become more eco-friendly and socially responsible. Here’s how: 1. Reducing Waste Traditional fashion creates a lot of waste. Sustainable practices like Frontier's 3D digital fabrics and on-demand production help cut down on this waste by making only what’s needed. 2. Saving Water Making clothes uses a lot of water. Sustainable fashion techniques, like digital printing and waterless dyeing, use much less water, helping to conserve this vital resource. 3. Recycling and Upcycling Many brands are now turning old clothes into new ones. This recycling and upcycling process reduces the need for new materials and cuts down on waste. 4. Using Eco-Friendly Materials Sustainable fashion often uses materials like organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, and recycled fibers. These materials are better for the environment because they use fewer chemicals and less water. 5. Ethical Production Sustainable fashion also means fair treatment for workers. Brands are making sure workers get fair wages, work in safe conditions, and that no child labor is involved. Certifications like Fair Trade and GOTS help ensure these practices are followed. Our previous poll showed that infrastructure deficiencies and missing regulations are considered the biggest hurdles to achieving circularity in the fashion industry. How can we overcome these hurdles? To embrace circularity, there must be awareness and action from every party involved in the industry: government, companies, and consumers, all sharing the same mindset that we must enact change right now. While consumers are increasingly prioritizing quality and sustainability, the fashion industry is still projected to generate 70% more waste annually by 2050. Less than 1% of all textiles worldwide are estimated to be recycled into new textiles. We want to be facilitators. As a global company that shares this concern and is aware of its responsibility, we've created SENSIL® Flow, a sweeping approach to Nylon 6.6 circularity that facilitates yarn, fabric, and ultimately, apparel recycling to eliminate waste and further reduce textiles' environmental impact. Through strategic partnerships, our goal is to create a flow – like the name suggests – where every single part of the textile and fashion industry, from the beginning to the final consumer, acts to reduce waste by recycling and prolonging the lifetime of garments. To achieve impact on a global level, we have to understand the needs of each region where we operate, knowing their distinct demands and complexities. Each country – and even each city – has its own infrastructure challenges. With that in mind, we have been forming local alliances, from fabric suppliers to recycling companies, counting on their experience and knowledge as only a local stakeholder can be truly aware of regional issues. While SENSIL® Flow is a significant step, we believe this initiative can inspire many others and also provoke positive and meaningful changes in the policies and practices affecting the fashion industry. #circularity #flow #fashion #textile #industry

#Circularfashion is an approach to the fashion industry that aims to minimize waste and environmental impact by promoting sustainable practices throughout the lifecycle of clothing. It focuses on designing, producing, consuming, and disposing of clothing in ways that support the longevity of garments, reuse of materials and reduction of resource consumption. Key aspects of circular fashion include : #DesignforDurability Creating garments that are well-made and intended to last, using quality materials and construction techniques. #RecyclingandUpcycling Encouraging the recycling of textiles and materials to create new clothing or upcycling existing garments into new designs. #ResourceEfficiency Using sustainable materials and minimizing energy, water, and chemical inputs during production. #ClosedLoopSystems Establishing systems where garments can be returned, refurbished, or recycled at the end of their life, reducing waste and extending product lifecycles. #SharingandRenting Promoting clothing rental services, swapping platforms, or second-hand markets to prolong the use of garments. #EthicalConsiderations Ensuring fair labor practices and ethical sourcing of materials throughout the supply chain. #CraftingCommunityWithaSustainableMind
