Samsung Electronics is one of the largest technology and electronics conglomerates in the world by revenue. → Samsung Electronics ships as many smartphones as $AAPL annually (~230 million). → The company has a dominant global market share in the capital intensive memory chip business (~45% for DRAM, ~33% for NAND). → It's the second largest semiconductor foundry in the world after $TSM – making leading-edge chips for companies like Apple, $NVDA, and $QCOM. → The company's semiconductor division, Device Solutions, now accounts for a third of revenue but a whopping 55% of EBIT. → The consumer electronics division (excl. Mobile Experience) on the other hand – making everything from TVs, washing machines to air conditioners – accounts for 19% of revenue but only 3% of EBIT. → Samsung Electronics is the 23rd largest public company in the world by market cap, $370B.
