Some have been in the team long time, others are new in their roles since last time we met. What I like most about my job is working together with talented people to better our customer offer, our sustainability and our business. The Volvo Group is a diverse organism with 106 000 employees globally, multiple brands and a wide portfolio of products and services that we develop, produce, sell and service. Collaboration is sometimes difficult, but always essential. This week I have had the pleasure to spend time with our cross functional global council for development of the Remanufacturing offer. My role as chairman is easy thanks to the engaged team, and thanks to Ann-Sofie Wulfsberg ‘s impressive management of the joint agenda. Thanks Tomas Medin and team for showing us the new plant in #Flen and to Wardi Wael for inviting us to #Volvodays in Eskilstuna and expanding our knowledge of VCE’s product offer. Sunday. Closing the loop on high performing teams. After an intensive week with other Volvo Group leaders at IMD in Lausanne, in the #unleashhumanpotential program, it feels humbeling to bring the reflektions back to where it all started. On a soccer field, with ten year olds. Caring and daring can never be more intuitive. #Skövde has a special place in my heart, ever since I spent a few years here as a student. The Volvo Group has a very long legacy of producing combustion engines in Skövde. Last week I was happy to participate at the inauguration of battery assembly including #circular operations in the Skövde plant. I was also super happy to stay at the epic hotel BILLINGEHUS for the first time after renovation, and enjoying my morning run at Billingen’s beautiful recreation area. During the last two weeks I have had the possibility to share my reflections on #remanufacturing, as we have celebrated the World Remanufacturing day in several events across the Volvo Group. Yesterday I had the chance to show the real deal to our new head of Volvo Powertrain, Mounir Boucenine, as we visited Stéphane COVASSO and the engaged team in Circular Operations #Limoges. Makes me proud every time to to see that the visions we paint in the powerpoints are realized every day by the skilled professionals in our plants! Also met the four latest employees at the site, managing the #ecograzing of the lawn’s, for increased biodiversity. To some this is only a young forest. To me it’s the forest I played in as a kid. Harvested since about 15 years to become renewable building material. Now mine to be cared for, for maximum CO2 binding as it grows. Biodiversity is also important to me and a mixed forest is the target. All sorts of trees that was there before the clearance is there also after. I get it to 9 sorts, but I may have missed one or two. Contrary to prevailing practice, I have spaced quite a few pines, so that the moose CAN graze them. Most seed trees may remain as eternal trees. I have spent a few hours with my clearance saw per weekend during the past weeks. I can not exaggerate how much these hours are worth to me. How much energy the physical work, the freezing, the sweating and the fresh air gives me, as I have the honor of shaping this bit of land to something my kids (if they want) can harvest again, when they are about my age. This weeks highlight was Gemba with Stéphane COVASSO and team in our Volvo Group Circular Operations and Solutions plant in #Limoges, France. The best thing in my job is to see engaged people making a difference. Like Ophelie who’s improvement on the soda blasting station recently won best Quick Kaizen globally in Circular. Look forward to welcome her to Sweden for the global price ceremony in May. Limoges also delivered this years first morning run in shorts. This week I managed to pick the right day to visit Tomas Medin and team in our new #remanufacturing plant in #Flen: The day the Volvo Group sign came up on the wall. Can’t help to feel super proud of what that sign stands for and what we will do with all the possibility this facility gives!
